Today, we honor the dads, granddads, and father figures who make life better simply by being themselves.

There is no age
Limit on making new friends and finding joy.
Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with one of our newest residents. At 101 years young she shared moving into a new home was difficult at first, and she felt sad leaving behind what was familiar. But with time, caring neighbors, and new friendships, she has found happiness again.
Today she loves her adorable apartment, enjoys spending time with friends, and truly feels at home❤️🏠
A moment that speaks straight to the soul. Our Memory Care Director gently held the hands of residents living with dementia- each hand marked with the occupation they once proudly held. Nurse, Teacher , Air Traffic Controller.
This reel is a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a lifetime of purpose, passion, and identity. And that they are still very much loved. Their stories still shine. Their hands still remember. Honoring their past helps us care for their present.

Our community was treated to something truly special today. A talented granddaughter of two of our residents visited GenCare Federal Way and blessed our Memory Care and Assisted Living residents with a beautiful piano recital.
She played with such grace and confidence - and the smiles, toe tapping, and joyful conversations afterward said it all. Moments like these remind us how powerful connection, music, and family can be.
Thank you to this wonderful young musician for brightening our day and filling our home with music!❤️🎶

Rain tried to stop us… but GenCare Federal Way does not slow down🚀
Our Walk and Roll Walk-a-thon moved indoors, and honestly? It turned into a full on party. We had dance music blasting, residents rolling and strolling,
Team members joining in, and raffle tickets flying with every completed lap.
Walkers, wheelchairs and sneakers - everyone was moving, laughing, and cheering each other on. This is what community looks like. This is what wellness looks like. And this is why we love our residents!
Huge shout out to everyone who showed upand showed out. Lets keep moving, GenCare!❤️

What a wonderful day out! A group of our residents and team members from GenCare Federal Way took a little adventure to Rafiki African Restaurant in Kent. Great food, great company, and lots of smiles all around. Moments like these remind us how special it is to share new experiences together

🪴New Dementia Support Group at GenCare Federal Way🪴
Starting May 15, we’re opening our doors to families who are walking the dementia journey with someone they love.
Whether you’re supporting a spouse, a parent, or another family member, you don’t have to navigate this alone. Our monthly group offers a safe, compassionate space to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who truly understand.
The group is lead by Racheal Payne our Memory Care Director. She has over 13 years specializing in memory care, supporting individuals living with dementia and their families with compassion, dignity and respect.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this group, we welcome you to join us. You are not alone in this.
