Federal Way is seeing meaningful drops in crime, from robberies, vehicle thefts and more. I’m proud of the work our officers are doing to protect our community, but as I said in my interview, these numbers are not good enough. Public safety is, and will remain, my top priority.

As we mark September 11th, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger that day.

For those of us in public service, it’s a solemn reminder of our duty to protect, to serve, and to never take safety or unity for granted. In Federal Way, we carry that spirit forward by standing with our first responders and working every day to build a safer, stronger community.

I was honored to attend and speak at the Carpenters Local 206 graduation as these apprentices became new journeymen. Congratulations to each graduate, your skill and dedication build our homes, businesses, and community. Thank you to Local 206 for your leadership and for welcoming me to share in this important milestone!

This Labor Day, we recognize the hardworking men and women who keep our country moving. The American labor movement helped secure fair wages, safer workplaces, and dignity for workers – and that legacy lives on today.

I’m proud of the progress we’re making in Federal Way to grow good jobs, strengthen our local economy, and support the working families who make our city what it is.
