As a new week begins, remember this:
Your worth is not defined by how someone treats you.
Your voice matters.
Your feelings are valid.
You deserve to be safe, respected, and loved.
Be gentle with yourself this week. Give yourself the same kindness you so freely give to others. And if you need support, you don't have to face it alone.

π Men's Mental Health Awareness Month*π
This month, we recognize the importance of men's mental health and encourage open conversations about the challenges many men face.
Too often, men are told to "tough it out" or keep their struggles to themselves. The truth is that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or the effects of an unhealthy relationship, your mental health matters.
At Promise Place, we want men to know:
π You are not alone.
π Your experiences are valid.
π Support is available.
Taking care of your mental health is one of the most important investments you can make in yourself and those you love. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available 24/7.

π Domestic Violence Can Affect Anyone π
Did you know that men can be victims of domestic violence too?
Abuse is not defined by gender. It can include emotional abuse, threats, intimidation, financial control, isolation, and physical violence.
Too often, men suffer in silence because they fear they won't be believed or don't know where to turn for help. At Promise Place, we want every survivor to know:
π You deserve to be safe.
π You deserve to be heard.
π You deserve support.
Promise Place provides services and support for survivors of domestic violence, including men.

Children Are Impacted Too...
Domestic violence doesn't just affect the person being abusedβit affects the children who witness it.
Children exposed to domestic violence may experience anxiety, depression, difficulty in school, sleep problems, and feelings of fear and insecurity. Even when they don't see the abuse directly, they often feel the effects.
Many mothers want to leave, but it's rarely that simple. They may face:
π Concerns about housing and financial stability
πΆ Fear of losing support for their children
π Threats from the abuser
π Emotional manipulation and trauma
βοΈ Legal or custody concerns
Leaving is often the most dangerous time for a survivor, which is why support, safety planning, and understanding are so important.
If you or someone you know needs help, Promise Place is here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
