We are ready for our festival on Saturday! We rehearsed presenting our model and poster, and sent in this video for the judges to see! We are so proud of the hard work our Camo Cubs have put in this season.
We have been preparing to attend the festival this upcoming Saturday in Rockwall - here is a video of us presenting our poster and model!

The last couple of sessions, we have been working on our team poster to present to the judges at the final event - our Cargo Connect Expo! We have been working hard to memorize our core values, and we are polishing our public speaking skills! When it's time for the expo, we will be ready and confident to share what we have learned about IMPACT, INCLUSION, FUN, TEAMWORK, INNOVATION, and DISCOVERY.

The past two sessions, our Camo Cubs enjoyed free building! We have been using our imaginations to build custom ways to move cargo. We are also preparing our community model for exhibition in Feb to share with our families, other teams in our local area, and the judges.

Today we worked more on DISCOVERY. We talk a lot about how the concepts we are exploring connect to engineering! We learned about sensors and how they connect to machines to make them work better. We talked about GPS, smart thermostats, hoverboards, and garage door openers, and how they all use sensors to do their jobs. We added a proximity sensor to our sorting center and experimented with the code!
Our Camo Cubs are so inquisitive, creative, and daring when it comes to trying new ideas!

Today we focused on IMPACT. We apply what we learn to improve the world. We studied safety features to understand why they're important, and we used code to program our robot to flash a certain color light depending on how it sorts cargo. We also did more free-building to prototype ideas for transporting cargo over sea.

Last week we focused on INNOVATION. We used creativity and persistence to solve problems. We built a rover robot that could drive forwards or backwards depending on how we wrote the code.
Today we focused on INCLUSION. We respect each other and embrace our differences. We attached the motor to our sorting center and used the code to sort between blue and green containers. We talked about how Amazon uses bar codes to sort their packages.
