Three Rivers Art Center and Gallery would like to introduce you to our newest artists!
WENDY ROGERS, raised, schooled, worked, and retired in Farmington, NM.
In 2021, while visiting a friend in Phoenix, she persuaded me to take a two-day clay molding class with her. I wasn’t sure initially where I would go with it.
Upon returning to Farmington with one box of clay I found myself with an idea and made my first quail…….wearing rain boots!
Rarely do my sculptures end up the way I envisioned them. They seem to talk along the way, which both excites and frustrates me as well. They want to move their heads, hands and arms, and even their eyes during their molding journey. At times I fight with them, but usually they win, which leads each of them to their own unique personalities.
May my creations brighten your day and bring you a smile.
