Cane Rosso Rescue
501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and building awareness for homeless dogs
The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at shelters or whose owners who can no longer care for them. We are looking for fosters, adopters and volunteers who can help transport dogs to their homes. Donations are needed to pay for medical care and other expenses and can be made via PayPal at [email protected].

Every week we see hundreds of dogs in shelters running out of time. Every week we get dozens or emails asking for help. Every week we have to decide who we can save and who we can’t.
And the truth is, we can’t keep saying yes if the dogs already in our care have nowhere to go.
💙Duke is one of those dogs.
He’s done everything right. He’s been patient. He’s been grateful. He’s been waiting. He’s been a good dog. No complicated backstory. No long list of requirements. Just a sweet, normal, lovable dog looking for his people.
🏡 His foster has loved him dearly, but life circumstances are changing and she can no longer keep fostering him. Now Duke needs a foster takeover or, better yet, a FOREVER HOME.
💔What breaks our hearts is that we honestly don’t know why he’s still here.
-No family waiting.
-No one asking to meet him.
…..Just more waiting.
💔 Some dogs get noticed immediately. Others, like Duke, sit and wait….and why, we don’t know.
The reality is that every foster home and kennel space occupied means another dog we cannot save.
🙏Please. Duke needs a foster or forever home so Cane Rosso Rescue can keep helping the dogs still waiting for rescue.
Share him. Foster him. Adopt him.

This adorable little guy wandered onto someone’s property, trying to survive the world at a very young age. 💔
No microchip. No owner. No one came looking.
Sadly, it seems this sweet boy was dumped and left to fend for himself.
The good news? He’s safe and those days are behind him.
❤️ He’s now safe with , settling into foster care, and proving to everyone what an amazing puppy he is.
He’s cute, he’s scruffy, he’s ridiculously lovable, and now all he needs is a family to call his own.

Update😭: it is with a broken heart we report that Priscilla’s condition was too advanced and she humanely passed during surgery. Halfway through surgery our vet called us to inform us that her quality of life would be in question for her entire life. This has broken us. We want to thank our vet for keeping her best interest at heart and not making her suffer unnecessarily. We so badly want to save them all, but we can’t be selfish and couldn’t sentence her to a lifetime of pain IF she made it through the surgery. 😭 hug your babies tight tonight and thank you for trying to save Priscilla with us. We love you sweet girl.
🆘 EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER FOR PRISCILLA 🆘
Today, we were forced to make a decision no rescue ever wants to face.
Do we spend $6,000 on emergency surgery… or do we say goodbye to Priscilla?
Priscilla is one of our dogs. She belongs to us. We are her guardians. She depends on us for everything—food, water, shelter, safety, medical care, and love. She trusts us completely.
And when she needed us most, we could not turn our backs on her.
We chose the $6000 surgery.
❤️🩹 Right now, as you read this, Priscilla is in emergency surgery fighting for her life.
We are terrified.
We are sitting here waiting for answers, praying for good news, and hoping with everything we have that our sweet girl makes it through this.
Just a few days ago, Priscilla was her happy, loving self. Then she suddenly stopped eating. She refused food. She refused water. She became lethargic, weak, and pale. We rushed her to the vet, started medications, and hoped she would improve.
She didn’t.
She continued to decline, and today things became critical.
The reality of rescue is that there is no one else to make these decisions. There is no safety net. When these dogs need us, we show up—even when the cost is overwhelming, even when we’re scared, and even when we don’t know how we’re going to pay the bill.
Because Priscilla deserves every chance to live.
Today, that chance came with a $6,000 price tag.
If you have ever loved a dog, ever loved Priscilla, shared one of her posts, cheered for her journey, or simply believe that every dog deserves a fighting chance, please consider making a donation toward her emergency medical care.
Every single dollar helps.
Most of all, please pray for our girl. Send good thoughts, positive energy, and all the love you can spare. Cane Rosso Rescue needs a miracle tonight.
Fight, Priscilla. We are fighting right alongside you. ❤️

None of it is fair.
Life never is.
We want to give her a life. That’s why we rescued her.
We don’t know why dogs like Lucy sit and sit and sit while other dogs find homes almost immediately. We don’t know why a dog with so much to offer keeps getting overlooked.
💰 And the reality is that boarding costs are killing us as a small rescue. We have to say NO to other dogs who desperately need help in order to keep paying for boarding fees for Lucy. None of it is fair and it’s no longer viable. We need help.
When we commit to a dog, we mean it. We promised Lucy we’d help her find her home, and we are still trying.
The problem is that Lucy cannot live in boarding forever.
She deserves more than a kennel. More than waiting. More than watching life pass by while everyone else moves on.
Give her a chance and you’ll discover an incredible companion. She’s beautifully trained, knows her commands, has great recall, and forms deep bonds with the people she loves.
We are running out of options and desperately need a home for Lucy. Whether it’s a foster or forever home, she needs out of boarding NOW.
🩷Lucy’s details:
5 years old
37 lbs
Brittany Spaniel/Pointer mix
Potty trained & crate trained
Good with other dogs—LOVES to play with toys and do zoomies!
No cats, please

This is the dog everyone asks us for…she’s perfect!
Seriously, if you’ve ever said you’re looking for a dog that’s friendly, social, good with kids, loves other dogs, can live with cats, rides great in the car, and walks nicely on leash… we’re talking about Valentine.
😢Unfortunately, Valentine ended up in a small shelter where dogs are euthanized for time and space. When the shelter reached out because they were facing heartbreaking decisions for some truly wonderful dogs, Valentine was one of them.
The good news? Cane Rosso Rescue said yes.
This girl is sweet, easygoing, and ready to jump right into family life. No drama. No diva behavior. Just a really great dog looking for her people.

Three dogs are alive today because foster homes said YES. ❤️
This week, a small shelter reached out for help. Three were at risk of euthanasia and desperately needed a way out.
Because our incredible foster families stepped up, we were able to say yes. Instead of losing their lives, these three dogs are now safe, settling into foster homes, and getting the second chance they deserve.
Moments like this are only possible because of people willing to open their homes and hearts. Our fosters truly make rescue happen, and we are endlessly grateful for every single one of them.
🤩 And now for the fun part… these three sweet Labs are officially joining the Cane Rosso Rescue family and will soon be looking for forever homes!
If you’d like to donate to their care as we intake them, we would be so grateful. Donation options listed below.
Adoption Applications are open now, and we’d love to set up meet-and-greets as soon as they’re ready.

Does your dog need a friend? Do you love daily walks?
If you said YES to these questions…..Cane Rosso Rescue has got a perfect dog for you!
🩷Meet Molly!
She is available for immediate adoption and looking for a home with another dog, and she loves cats too!
When Molly arrived, she was absolutely terrified of the world. But her foster family refused to give up on her, and the shy, scared dog we met back then is almost unrecognizable today.
At just 1.5 years old, Molly has gone from being absolutely paralyzed by fear to becoming one of the “easiest, sweetest fosters we’ve ever had”.
She’s housebroken, cat-friendly, dog-friendly, loves car rides, loves toys, loves walks and has the sweetest soul.
Molly only has two real requirements in life:
🐾 Another dog to love, follow, play with, and learn from.
🐾 Daily walks.
That’s it.
A dog friend isn’t optional for Molly—it’s her confidence, comfort, and favorite companion all rolled into one. And her daily walks? She lives for them.
The right home for Molly isn’t looking for her to be perfect. They’re looking for a loyal, loving companion and are willing to give her a little time to settle in and feel safe.
Although crate trained, these days she’s earned free-roaming in her foster home. She enjoys snoozing on the couch, playing with her dog friends, occasionally sleeping belly-up in bed, and proudly destroying plush toys one squeaker at a time.
She’s goofy. She’s gentle. She’s ridiculously sweet.
And that giant, dramatic yawn she does? Every. Single. Time. It gets us. 😂
There is so much to love about this girl. Someone is going to adopt the best dog, so let’s find her that someone!!!

Available for adoption: meet Kane💙
No “project” dog. No drama. No baggage or “things to work on”.
Just Kane. A great family dog. A trained dog. A dog who Cane Rosso Rescue is trying to keep out of the shelter.
He’s a friendly, social, sweet dog who has been used to living in a home and already knows what it means to be someone’s companion. His family cares about him deeply but can no longer give him the time he deserves and they are re-homing him.
Kane is a 3-year-old Lab mix (DOB: 3/20/23). He is neutered, potty trained, crate trained, and previously completed a two-week board and train program where he learned basic commands. He is energetic and enjoys playing, but he also loves relaxing in his bed and playing with his toys.
💙Kane

Feel Good Friday post!!! 💚
What do Broadway’s Wicked cast and rescue dogs in Dallas have to do with each other?!? SO glad you asked!
Broadway’s touring musical Wicked is in for several weeks on tour and they are saving dogs off the euthanasia list by temporarily fostering them and helping them find homes!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
Does it get any more awesome than Glinda and Elphaba and the cast and crew helping our community save dogs?!? We think not!
Foster pup Jenny is one of the Wicked crew’s foster pups and she is an absolute DREAM. We’re stepping in to help them find her a forever home before her foster mom heads to the next tour stop.
😢Jenny was found abandoned on the side of the road and taken to Dallas Animal Services, where she sat for 24 days without interest. She clearly had been a mama dog at some point recently.
💔Then she landed on the euthanasia list with just 24 hours left… until the Wicked crew stepped in to save her.
From her foster:
🦛 We call her our velvet hippo (she is the softest!!! Anyone who is willing to adopt her will just be the luckiest!!!!
“Hi, I’m Jenny! I love sunny days in the yard, cuddles on the couch, and following my foster mom around the house. I’m a little shy at first, but once I trust you, I’ll be your most loyal best friend. I’m gentle, affectionate, playful, and happiest just being close to my people. If you’re looking for a sweet companion to love forever, I’m your girl.” 💚
🩷Jenny
