Today, we are talking about the bar muscle-upโ€”a high-skill movement that represents the ultimate fusion of gymnastics power and raw strength.

In CrossFit, we don't just hope you catch one; we build it through intentional progressions. It starts with learning how to transfer energy from your core to your extremities using the hollow-to-arch swing (the exact same foundation we build in our kipping pull-ups). From there, it's about developing the pressing strength to drive out of the deep dip position, heavily targeting the upper chest and triceps.

Advanced skills like this shouldn't just be thrown at you. They need to be broken down using the Tell, Show, Do, Check method:
* Tell: Explaining the mechanics and the "why."
* Show: Demonstrating the movement or drill visually.
* Do: Letting you practice the specific progression.
* Check: Coaching and correcting your form in real-time.

It is Testimony Tuesday, and today we are celebrating Adam! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Adam has been absolutely crushing his fitness goals with usโ€”adding muscle mass and dropping body fat. But his biggest win goes way beyond the scale. Adam is currently training for a marathon and has realized firsthand just how much strength and conditioning outside of his running has aided his ability to do so successfully. ๐ŸŽฏ

Before finding us, Adam was only running and not prioritizing any strength work, which eventually led to some major injuries. After working with physical therapists and being referred to us here at CrossFit Fargo, he decided to go all in and build discipline in a whole new way. Now, he literally runs to the gym, lifts heavy weights with us, and runs home! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Holden is a prime example of what happens when you commit to the process. Over his first 3 months of CrossFit, he has dramatically increased his muscle mass and decreased his body fat percentage. If that wasn't enough, he took his hard work to the big stage and just competed in his first-ever competition this past weekend at the Midwest Fitness Fest! ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

His determination and drive are something we deeply admire here. Holden proves that choosing discipline before motivation, and executing it consistently, is exactly how you achieve life-changing results. ๐Ÿ“ˆ
