Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of our Tree Planting Program! ☀️🌳

Our deposit and reimbursement program for newly constructed homes encourages residents to plant trees in their boulevards. A deposit is collected when a building permit is issued and is refunded once trees are planted.

After completing the online permit and having your property approved for planting, you'll be able to choose from a variety of trees, including small fruit trees and large oak trees.

In my industry, we see a lot of this happening. The newest one is “a buyer” inquiring on a home but lives out of town so they want to set up a Zoom meeting to introduce themselves. While this could be a legitimate way to meet a new buyer, I always say I’ll initiate the Zoom link or meet via FaceTime and funny how they go quiet.

🏠Licensing Process for Short-Term Rentals

Short-term rental operators can begin applying for licensing on May 1, 2026. Licenses will be issued for the period of July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

On Nov. 3, 2025 the West Fargo City Commission approved Ordinance 1254 to establish regulations for the operation of short-term rental properties within City limits, with an effective date of July 1, 2026.

Applicant properties will go through a Safety and Compliance Check and be screened for safe occupancy levels.

This application process will ensure that all short-term rentals, such as AirBnB and VRBO properties are safe to operate, are paying applicable taxes and fees, and that owners can be contacted by the West Fargo Police Department, West Fargo Fire Department, or West Fargo Building Inspectors.
