"Acquaintance"? Nah, more like drama! Back in 2021, O'Shea got slapped by CR7 for messing with his penalty.

Fast forward to the recent World Cup qualifiers, Portugal took a tough L, losing 0-2 to Ireland. Things got spicy in the 61st minute when Ronaldo elbowed Dara O'Shea and ended up getting a straight red card after VAR stepped in. He even threw up a crying face at O'Shea—talk about extra!

But here’s the kicker: these two have beef going way back. In that 2021 qualifier where Portugal edged Ireland 2-1, O'Shea kicked the ball away right before Ronaldo's penalty. Ronaldo didn’t hold back—he slapped him down! Ronaldo’s penalty got saved but he bounced back hard, scoring twice in the final minutes to seal the comeback and become Portugal’s all-time top scorer.

Drama, goals, and a bit of revenge—this rivalry’s got it all!

Bryan Mbeumo just gave Man United something we’ve been craving for years!

This summer, the Mbeumo transfer saga had fans pulling their hair out—feels kinda like the Frenkie de Jong drama all over again.

At first, things looked hopeful when Matheus Cunha signed on day one and immediately boosted the squad. Going after Mbeumo next seemed like a smart move, but Brentford’s no release clause made things tricky.

United only got him signed literally right before the summer tour. Mbeumo was dead set on Old Trafford, which annoyed some Premier League rivals, but nobody knew if he’d actually click.

Joining that late was tough: new teammates, new manager, new city, plus a last-minute pre-season tour in the US.

He finally made his debut in the last tour game vs Everton—not the smoothest start. Yet, at 26, he’s one of only four players to start every Premier League match this season, and the only new signing pulling that off!

With 6 goals in 12 games, he’s on track to match last season’s 20-goal haul. That kind of instant impact? Super rare for a new Man United player. Remember Antony’s bright spark? Yeah, that didn’t last. And loads of signings never even got going.

Like Matthijs de Ligt needing time to settle, Mbeumo might be the first since Zlatan Ibrahimovic to come through the door and hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

His whole legacy? That’s for later. But if he keeps this up, he’s shaping up to be one of United’s very few recent transfer wins. Fingers crossed!

Gonzalo just scored big at the AFE Awards! 🔥 The Real Madrid Castilla forward snagged the award for Primera Federación Group 2’s best player and took home the Enrique Castro Quini Award as the top scorer with an epic 25 goals last season. 💥

This young talent hasn’t just made waves; he’s set records, matching Mariano’s tally as Castilla’s top scorer of the 21st century! 🚀

Gonzalo couldn’t make it to the gala because he’s out repping Spain’s U21 squad, but he sent a heartfelt shoutout: “Huge thanks to AFE and everyone who voted for me! Proud to share this with my Castilla teammates and coaching staff. Big congrats to all the winners!” 🙌

The drama around Vinícius just keeps heating up! 🔥 Rumors about him leaving Real Madrid exploded after El Clásico, especially with his rocky vibe with Alonso and contract talks dragging on. Vinícius wants a paycheck like Mbappé’s, but the club’s not having it. His game has dipped from Ballon d'Or contender to barely in the starting eleven.

Madrid slapped a 150 million euro price tag on him, trying to get back some cash before his deal runs out in 2027. Remember those wild Saudi offers of 300 million? Yeah, Madrid said no. Now they’re willing to take half that. Word is, Vinícius might not be rocking the white shirt next season.

Real Madrid’s stuck between a rock and a hard place: cough up big bucks and mess with their finances, or risk losing Vinícius for free by 2027 with all this Saudi and Premier League interest lurking. Stay tuned, this saga isn’t over yet! 💥⚽️

Lee Sharp: We have seen the end of Andre Onana playing for MU📊

Manchester United approved Andre Onana's loan move to Turkey in the summer, and a former player doubts he'll return, as Senne Lammens has impressed.

Onana joined with high hopes after reaching the Champions League final with Inter Milan but made costly errors for United. After summer talks, he left for Trabzonspor after the Premier League transfer window closed, with them covering his wages. Meanwhile, United have moved forward with young goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Signed in summer, Lammens has impressed, keeping a clean sheet on debut and providing calm at the back. Sharpe believes Lammens will replace Onana permanently.

The ex-United player said: "I’d be surprised if Onana returns. Lammens has claimed the spot, and Onana wouldn't want to be second choice. Onana’s time at Old Trafford seems over."

Onana was confident in his ability but faced setbacks last season, including being dropped and injured. Altay Bayindir struggled, Onana was recalled but made errors, while Lammens has been more reliable, helping the team win at Liverpool. Sharpe compared him to great goalkeepers Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar, noting Lammens combines Schmeichel’s shot-stopping and commanding presence with van der Sar’s calmness and composure.

Arne Slot makes stunning claim he preferred Liverpool's performance in Man United defeat to the Aston Villa win

At least in terms of performances – as the Liverpool boss insists the display in their loss against Manchester United was better than that in the win over Aston Villa, despite the outside noise being completely different.

Slot is always candid about tactics and performance levels, with the Dutchman often thinking results dictate too much of the post-match chatter.

He said: 'I liked our performance more against United than Villa, I think I am the only one. The result I liked was against Villa!

'What I mean from that, is from open play we created much more chances against United than Villa. We had to take more risks but we didn't concede a lot (of chances) against United.

'We were "lucky" against Villa that one of the best keepers in the world made a mistake and we had a deflection to score.

If you win a game everything is "wow, what a game, look at this!" if you lose everything is focused on what you need to improve. I try to balance that out a bit in this building.'

Slot will go to Manchester City on Sunday hoping to have Alexander Isak in the travelling party. The Swede is set to train on Friday afternoon and could make the squad – though Alisson and Jeremie Frimpong remain out.

The boss also hailed Dominik Szoboszlai, who has been a standout performer, and said: 'He has been outstanding throughout the whole season.

'These two games brought more out of him. It is maybe smarter not to say those things. I think Dominik has a lot of qualities but one of them is also his work without the ball.

'I like it every single game but in the last two that was above his own standards.'
