Restored by Michael Orchard Studio
These panels took many years of craftsmanship to create and have quite the lineage! They were originally built between 1934 and 1938 by Weston & Leighton Fabricators. Chester Weston and Edward Leighton first started their studio in Minneapolis in 1930. Previously, Weston and Leighton worked for Thomas Gaytee who established his studio, also in Minneapolis, in 1918. Gaytee was a sales person for Louis Comfort Tiffany in the Cities before to going off on his own.

17, 70-year-old panels moved from the old Newman Center at NDSU to the new Newman Center (currently under construction). All German-drawn antique glass.
To restore, many cracked pieces were replaced and repaired, with some painting and kiln firing.
Happy everything lined up in the new frame!
