TECH TUESDAY: Stone Milling with Amrita!

Inside our Stone Mill Room, we use traditional stone milling to turn grains like wheat, barley, and quinoa into whole grain flours while preserving their natural nutrients.

With a 26-inch granite stone mill, this space allows us to explore how milling impacts flour quality and end-use performance.

Last week, NCI welcomed 8 participants from Kazakhstan, Senegal, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tajikistan for a U.S. Soy and the Value of Essential Amino Acids (EAA) course. The group traveled across Minnesota and North Dakota for tours and lectures.

NCI Hosts Soybean and Soybean Meal Procurement Course | May 11-19, 2026 — Northern Crops Institute 05/22/2026

NCI’s Soybean & Soybean Meal Procurement course wrapped up earlier this week, and welcomed 36 participants from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Sri Lanka, Italy, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. The course began in Fargo for lectures and hands-on exercises before traveling to the PNW for tours.
