Let me take a moment away from the performer announcements to honor someone who has made this entire campaign possible 🖤

Sydney, known across the region as SYDSCOOLART, is the Creative Director for WEAREONE.exp and the artistic genius behind every single visual element of The Farewell Cookout.

Every caricature illustration you have seen. Every flyer. The two billboards on Main. The set design for the night. The mixtape cover. All of it was created from her hands, her mind, and her heart.

Sydney is extraordinary for her technical brilliance and her creative instinct. Many times she already has the full picture, while I am still looking at the pieces, and helps me step back to see it fully and the wonder that is possible. I love how SYD has a gift for translating feeling into art, and I know you stopped mid-scroll before because what she made has made you feel something!

Her work has been viewed, shared, and celebrated all over this region, and I am honored here style has graced the biggest event of my career, and it will be something I will carry with me to Valencia and beyond. Find her at (at) SYDSCOOLART, because if you need creative work done, she's the one.

Every great night needs a great host. For The Farewell Cookout for 1PrettyRicky, there was never any question who that would be 🖤

Fred Edwards Jr will be hosting June 13 at The Aquarium, and I want to take a moment to tell you exactly who Fred is to me and to this community.

Fred is my confidante. My closest counsel. The kind of friend who tells you the truth even when it is hard to hear. My Jonathan to my David. But Fargo knows him for so much more than that.

Fred is a Bush Fellow, the same prestigious honor I was awarded, given by the The Bush Foundation to leaders driving large-scale, equitable change across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the 23 Native nations within these states. He is a TEDx speaker with over 90,000 views. He founded Freds Dissonance, a nonprofit building community through cultural exchange. He organized Fargo's Juneteenth celebration, as well as many across North Dakota and Minnesota, as well as spent years using spoken word, education, and art to create belonging for BIPOC youth in this region. He holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from NDSU, and will soon become DOCTOR (!!) in August. He is the quintessential, premier host and MC in the entire FM area.

Two Bush Fellows, on the same stage, on the same night, in this beloved city we gave everything to. I could not think of a more fitting way to close this chapter.

I have one more announcement for The Farewell Cookout for 1PrettyRicky, and this one is the most personal one yet!

C. Versy will be performing on June 13th at The Aquarium . And he is flying in from Los Angeles to be there. I have known Randy since high school. That's right, long before I moved to Fargo, before WEAREONE, before many of the chapters that led to this. He is one of my oldest friends

While I was building something in the Midwest, C. Versy was busy building something on the West Coast. As the founder of a Los Angeles-based multimedia company, he became a full-scale creative force, as a hip-hop artist, content creator, visual producer, and brand strategist with over 25 million social media streams and a sound that blends personal experience, street wisdom, and spiritual depth in a way that hits differently every time you hear it.

Seriously, so honored he decided to get on a plane to stand in that room with me on June 13, as I close this chapter and prepare to open the next one. Reuniting one last time before the next adventure begins. I'll never forget this Randy!

What a weekend! I’m only “1st” in name. I can be humble enough to say that 😜

Being invited to headline the Essentia Health Fargo Marathon Finish Line Party is not something I take lightly, and to do it back-to-back is so cool. To play the music in celebration of thousands of people crossing the finish is no easy feat! Yet I had some help to make it happen and get it going!

Thank you to Essentia Health Fargo Marathon and Ventures Endurance for trusting me with that moment. Events like this remind me exactly why I do this work.

To Livewire, you all always have me sounding incredible out there, and wherever I’m performing with all at the helm, and thank you for never letting it be anything less.

My guy Alec Kores Music! Whenever we do our DJ LIVE performance, I think our routines get more impressive and makes me giddy on stage every time. Thank you for showing up crazy early and giving it everything you had!

Six Fargo Marathons. That's the number I keep coming back to this week.

Saturday morning, I'll be back at the Essentia Health Fargo Marathon Finish Line Festival, soundtracking the moment thousands of runners have trained all year for.

There is nothing quite like a finish line. The exhaustion, the joy, the families waiting, strangers cheering for people they've never met. I get to be the sound behind all of it.

Lastly, this is my final Fargo Marathon before our family moves to Valencia this fall, and that makes this one mean even more! Six years of early mornings, finish-line celebrations, and a community that has never once stopped showing up.

I'll see you out there. Whether you're running it or cheering it on, come celebrate with me one last time.

Six years ago I played my first Fargo Marathon weekend, and somehow it became one of my favorite traditions of the whole year.

This Friday night I'm headlining the Mark Knutson Friday Night 5K for the third time, right outside the FARGODOME, doing what I love most.

This one hits a little different. It's my final Friday Night 5K before our family moves to Valencia this fall. Why do I do it? The runners, the families, the whole city out together, everyone moving for something bigger than themselves. That's always been the heart of what I do!
