What must it be like when your body won't let you do the thing you want most?
For weeks, Sam had been anticipating a whale watching trip in Dana Point. The morning of, he got up early. Got dressed. Put on his backpack. Ready to go.
Then he couldn't get out the door. He sat on the floor and cried. He didn't go.
We didn't know how to help. Later that day, in his spelling session with Ashlyn, we asked for a check-in. The question: "Can you give your family any insight into what happened this morning?"
Sam spelled:
"I EAGERLY AWAITED THIS EXPERIENCE AND THE ANTICIPATION SOMETIMES ACTS LIKE A TRICK ON MY MIND ALL THE BUILD UP SUDDENLY REVERSES AND THE OPPOSITE OCCURS."
