SCRAF - Sandia Creek Ranch Auxiliary Foundationis a local (Fallbrook) Equine Rescue and Outdoor Family Education enter. SCRAF has recently saved Zara from cancer, they’re restoring the Spanish Barb breed and support Carma in rehabilitating and retraining racehorses (OTTBs).
They also usually have “Country Christmas” once their trees are delivered to them (early Dember-ish) and your order gets you in! It’s great family fun!
They are a to-ho-ho-ho-tally awesome rescue! 😎🐴🐎🤠

Thought I’d share two of the ways I’ll start a painting.
Depending on how I feel, crazy thought 🤪, I’ll start from the focal point and work backwards to the background. Or I’ll start a little more conventionally and paint from the background to the foreground. Especially when my focus isn’t there and I just need to build a rhythm by keeping it simple at the start.

My current works in progress. Decided to block in with a limited palette…sometimes color mixing adds to the fun of painting. Of course, there were colors left over so, with the help of Liquin, I started adding to an older painting. 🤪👨🎨🎨🐴🖼️
(Burnt umber, titanium white, cad yellow lt, cad orange Lt, quin. Magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue and pthalo grean yellow shade)
