Next, we'll identify their needs and determine how we can meet them together. If you do not have a trip leader, we will provide one.

Mobilizing churches to put their faith into action by providing opportunities to serve alongside missionaries reaching the physically and spiritual hungry throughout the world. How Serving in Word & Deed Works ~
We will work with your church to identify a people group to serve, or you may choose to serve one of your current missionaries. We encourage you to select a team to visit your missionary or people group on the front lines. The team will deliver Bibles and/or the serving option that your church has chosen. This breathes new life into the missionary's work as well as bringing global perspective and excitement into the life of your congregation. We will provide fresh opportunities to foster longterm relationships with those on the field.

Most people overthink the first step. There isn't one to overthink.

Go where your desire to serve God leads you. We build the plan for you, Trip Guide included, ready to share with anyone who might help fund it. Then you go, with a plan already in place instead of a hundred questions the moment you arrive.

Well planned. Well supported. Life changing, for them and for you.

"I had the chance to attend a Shepherd Leadership Training with Pastor Carlos, and it was a wonderful experience! Pastor Carlos has a wealth of expertise on small group ministry within the church. Not only was there excellent material, but our small training group grew a sweet friendship over the week. I highly recommend any one who is interested in church planting or who is leading community groups within an established church to consider this training." - Jack Meckfessel

Our work is rooted in a simple calling: to serve others and give thanks to God in all that we do.

Whether through serving communities, supporting our mission teams, or coming alongside those in need, we strive to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” - Colossians 3:17

“Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations." That call has not changed for 2026.

Some ask, “Why go overseas when there is a need right here?” Well, going does not cancel out serving here, it is not one instead of the other. And whatever fear is holding you back, safety, money, not knowing the language, we handle it long before you land.

So why go? The answer: To reach people who are spiritually hungry, and caring for what they need in the moment too. To put faith into action. To remind a community of believers, serving far from home, that they are not forgotten. Join a mission trip today reachingthehungry.org/go

Carolee came to Malawi with uncertainty. She had been sick for weeks, wasn’t sure what to expect, and wondered if she would even be able to make the trip.

But she answered God’s call to go.

What she discovered was that she was more blessed than she was a blessing to others.

Her experience in Malawi reminded her of three things: to love, to be available, and to live with generosity.

Sometimes, saying yes to the call can change more than we expect.

That is not just our tagline. It is where Reaching The Hungry began—long before it had a name.

Years ago, Pastor Carlos traveled to Africa and noticed something: many organizations were handing out aid without building relationships or creating lasting follow-through. That stayed with him long after he returned home.

So he and his wife, Lisa, began serving in the villages of Malawi. They started by teaching Farming God’s Way, helping families grow food and care for the land. From there, they began Talking Bible Listening Groups, creating space for people to hear and discuss God’s Word in their own villages and language.

That led to showing the Jesus Film in Chichewa, followed by the formation of Life Group Bible studies. Physical needs were being met, relationships were growing, and communities were discovering the hope of the gospel.

That is how Reaching The Hungry began—not with a five-year plan drawn up in an office, but with a response to the needs right in front of us.

We still build everything the same way today: meet the physical need first, and let it open the door for the gospel.

In word and deed, together, every time.

🌍 Update from Joshua, our RtH‑Malawi Team Leader

The month of August was filled with blessings as the RtH‑Malawi team visited the Mkhalapadzuwa community in T/A Kabudura, Lilongwe. Our purpose was to encourage and strengthen the RtH Life Groups in the area.

During our visit, we were grateful for the opportunity to repair a non-functioning water well, restoring the community’s access to clean water. It brought us great joy to see the people once again benefiting from this vital resource. We also held joyful ministry outreaches for children and women throughout the day, sharing God’s love with the community.

That evening, we hosted a “Jesus Film” outreach at the community grounds. Many people heard the Gospel clearly presented, and we rejoiced as individuals responded by committing their lives to Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The following day, more than 20 Life Group leaders and their apprentices gathered for a productive Shepherd leadership training. They were equipped and encouraged to lead new Life Groups and disciple others effectively.

We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers and steadfast support. May the Lord richly bless you for your commitment to His work in Malawi. Shalom!

A pastor’s heart for global missions often comes before a clear plan.

Choosing where to serve, preparing a team, raising support, and managing the details can feel like a lot for one church to carry.

That is where partnership matters.

Reaching The Hungry walks beside your church through each stage of the journey. We provide the planning, preparation, fundraising tools, and experienced leadership needed to help your team serve with confidence.

Your church brings a heart to serve. We help prepare the way.

Watch the joy on their faces!

One pump. One village. Clean water flowing where families need it most.

In villages like this one, women and children walk miles to collect water, and unsafe water puts their families at risk every day.

A well changes that.

But clean water is only the beginning. Every well we install opens a door. A door to sit with a village and share a meal.

Every single one started with a moment like this.

You can be the reason the next village celebrates like this.

Join the mission at reachingthehungry.org and help us reach the next village.
