Pigalle is historically known as Paris’s red-light district. Famous for its nightlife, adult entertainment, and world-renowned cabarets like the Moulin Rouge. This bohemian neighborhood also played a key role in the city’s artistic life, welcoming artists such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Vincent van Gogh..

Newly acquired California and American art.
Featured art: Boat Builders Yard, 1938 by James Hollins Patrick. Watercolor on paper, 16 x 21 inches.
James Patrick (1911-1944) was active in Southern California, and is considered one of the pioneers of the “California Style”. Patrick had a tremendous career. In 1942 he served as president of the California Water Color Society. Unfortunately, Patrick’s life was cut short in his prime, but his art legacy lives on. Read more about James Patrick here:

Newly acquired California art by renowned Disney artist Hardie Gramatky. Gramatky worked at Disney when it was still an upstart company. From 1931 - 1936 he worked on Disney shorts featuring Mickey & friends. He later became an illustrator for premier magazines such as Fortune, Collier's, Woman's Day, True, American, and Reader's Digest. However, he may be best known for his children's book series Little Toot.
