Happy National Trails Day! Hope everyone is out enjoying the beautiful Santa Margarita River Trails.

This proposed transmission line would go through the Santa Margarita River Valley.

SDG&E says its proposed transmission line would meet growing power demand but opposition is growing The 145-mile transmission line would bisect Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, widely recognized as California's largest and most biodiverse state park.

3-13-26 Good News - crossing number 11 is now open. That means that all crossings are good to go EXCEPT for #10. #10 could
be closed indefinitely due to boulders and being extremely deep.

Great News!! All crossings are now open (except numbers 10 and 11). Remember to cross from ribbon to ribbon. Some places are still a bit murky, so use caution when crossing.

2-21-26 Great News!!! The trails will open tomorrow to everyone. However, ALL water crossings will remain closed until further notice. They are so deep and extremely murky.

As of today , Thursday, February 19th, the trails are open to hikers only. Check back again tomorrow for further updates.

Some of our followers have asked when we hold our meetings. They are held quarterly at Live Oak Park Community room. Our next meeting will be Jan. 21 at 5pm.
We hope you are able to attend. We can always use more volunteers.
