Fall River's Overdose Awareness Day is tomorrow!!! Resource tables start at 4:30 if you'd like information/help/resources/free giveaways
The vigil starts at 7 & runs until about 8:30. If you've never attended one, it's truly an amazing tribute to the beautiful people we've lost to this insidious disease.
There are speakers, performers, memorial video, candlelight precession to St. Anne's church, where they let off 1 bell for each life lost in Fall River last year.
Every overdose is somebody's someone.
International Overdose Awareness Day is just two days away.
On August 31 every year, we come together to remember our loved ones lost to overdose and to call for action to end overdose.
It's time to spread the word!
Overdose can happen to anyone, regardless of background or circumstance. It can occur whether a person is experiencing drug dependence or not. It can strike when a contaminated substance is taken or even during a first-time drug use. It can happen to people using prescription drugs. It affects the young and old, and everyone in between, anywhere in the world. Overdose does not discriminate.
Let's shatter the stigma surrounding overdose. Leading up to IOAD, let's encourage those around us to learn about the signs of overdose, how to respond, and evidence-based tools and strategies that can prevent overdose. Give a shoutout on social media using the hashtag to those people who have gone unseen in this global public health crisis.
Together, let's work towards a world free from overdose harm.
