Today we celebrate Day of Portugal, Camões, and the Portuguese Communities — a national holiday honoring Portugal's rich history, culture, language, and the Portuguese people around the world. The day is observed on June 10th, marking the death of Portugal's most celebrated poet, Luís Vaz de Camões, author of Os Lusíadas.
