Shalynn Santos is May Employee of the Month!

Shay has been a dedicated member of SSTAR for the past ten years and has served as the Program Manager for our Inpatient Acute Treatment Services (ATS) over the last year.

She consistently steps in to support all aspects of Inpatient Services. Shay is knowledgeable, compassionate, and a reliable resource for both Acute Treatment Services (ATS) and Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS). She regularly goes beyond the scope of her role to ensure that Inpatient Services operate efficiently and effectively. Shay’s commitment to patient care is evident in her daily efforts to make sure individuals receive the support they need while maintaining smooth operations across the unit.

For these reasons, Shay truly deserves to be Employee of the Month.

🗣️💬 Talking with Your Teen About Alcohol, Ma*****na, Va**ng, and Opioids Family Academy

Last week, 🏫 Fall River Public Schools, in partnership with 🤝 SSTAR Prevention Services, hosted a Family Academy focused on helping families talk with teens about alcohol, ma*****na, va**ng, and opioids.

🧠📚 This informative session explored why early prevention matters, how substances affect the developing brain, warning signs families should know, and practical strategies for starting meaningful conversations at home.

🌟 Families also learned about available community resources and supports. Childcare 👶, light snacks 🍎, and interpreters in Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole were available, and the session was streamed live on 📺 FRED-TV.

Communities are coming together for a great cause!

The towns of Swansea, Seekonk, Somerset, and the City of Fall River are coming together to host a Community Baby Shower on Saturday, June 13th, 2026!

This free event is meant to support new and expecting moms, dads, and caregivers!

There will be plenty of resources and free baby items available to participants.
