"The annual inflation rate in the US was steady at 1.4% in January of 2021, the same as in December and slightly below market forecasts of 1.5%. Main upward pressure came from food prices (3.8%), used cars and trucks (10%), utility gas service (4.3%), medical care services (2.9%), shelter (1.6%), electricity (1.5%) and new vehicles (1.4%)"
And this is considered good news.... Might I suggest instead;
Buy some land. Build a small house. Start a farm. Eat healthy. Go solar. Listings are in short supply but there's still some gems out there. Message me for daily updates.

Here's the thing, you/they aren't necessarily wrong, what most don't realize is that people don't buy houses, they buy payment plans.
$350k @ 3.5% interest and 10% down is $1,414/mo.
$300k @ 5% interest and 10% down is $1,449/mo!
Don't be penny wise but pound foolish!
This market is on fire, if you have a property that you want to sell THIS is the best time to sell. Do you invest? Are you passive or active? Have you seen the news about how the ETF market is a bear run away from catastrophe? If so...
Forget all that and invest in Real Estate. That same $100k you have in your 401k could buy a 6 family that pays you $2k a month after PITI (principal, interest, taxes, insurance).
If you can do basic plumbing and carpentry skills great, you'll save 10%. Otherwise you hire a property manager like most people and never worry about it. If any of this interests you (even which ETFs to pick, I have a bunch) message me!
