Ok so here it is guys; SIG P385. I got some close hold insider intel that this was coming to the market ( I didn’t know the designation however). As much as I wanted to tell you guys I couldn’t because it would cut me off from all types of insider information in the future. Clearly it’s a P365 derived handgun which makes sense as the P365 has been a mainstay of SIG handguns for years now. Few if any companies I’m aware of garner as much love and hate as SIG. One could justifiably state that they have largely brought it on themselves. Needless to say the pistol has to be accurate , durable and reliable and in this day and age have a good trigger. And I hope for SIGs sake it is bombproof safe; if not it will throw gasoline on an already raging fire in regards to the P320. Personally I like the looks of it but we know that means nothing if it doesn’t perform. So here we go gents; let’s hear it - what are your thoughts on SIGs latest release- the P385 ?

I’m hearing really good things about the new HK VP9CC. I’ve been a VP9 fan since they were first released. I tell people that Glocks are like a Toyota ( which is a good thing ) and the VP9 is like a Mercedes. Simply put the VP9 is a more complex, but definitely more refined, polymer striker fired pistol. Very good out of the box trigger, excellent reliability ( typical HK) and superb accuracy. And the match versions with the O ring at the muzzle end of the barrel are scary accurate. Easily one of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot. I hear similar things about the VP9CC; accurate, reliable and with a good trigger. It took awhile to bring it to the market because HK ran it through their normal development and testing process. Which I can tell you from first hand experience is without peer in the fi****ms industry. I’ve got some good friends who are waiting to get one without the Vortexx optic so they can mount their optic of choice. Then they are going to give me a thorough assessment of the weapon. Who out there has seen and/or shot one?

Most of the fi****ms media runs the same script on loop when it comes to precision ri**es. Same handful of names. Same hype cycle. Meanwhile some of the most capable, purpose-built tools sitting in real special operations armories barely get a mention.

That’s a shame. If you talk to the guys who actually use this stuff for a living, you hear about systems that do the job quietly, reliably, and without the marketing machine.

I broke some of those down over Fi****ms Friday — the HK G210, B&T APR modular bolt guns, DSR-1/DSR-50 bullpups, Haenel RS9, SIG SSG 3000, certain SCAR-H precision variants, and modern AI configs that don’t get the ink they deserve.

This isn't my usual deep dive but these exist because someone with a real requirement needed them so I wanted to highlight them. They’re tools, not headlines.

A good friend of mine just got his CZ75 Legend which is a modern reproduction of the first model CZ 75. This was introduced at SHOT show of this year. The originals in good condition bring some real coin so this is an opportunity for people to get one and shoot it. Who has seen these in Gun stores and handled one ? If so what did you think ?

Many of you know I am a SIG P210 fan. In particular the Swiss made ones that have been out of production for quite awhile now. They are extremely well made - very possibly the finest military service pistol ever made- very accurate and have excellent triggers. This is a honey of a P210-6 I saw on Gunbroker. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again if you want one get on it - the Swiss ones not only will never be made again they will only go one way in value- up. Who has one or wants one ? Let’s hear it !
