FCSD Explorers - Before/Afterschool Program

NO before school program tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Stay warm!!

Noah's Ark had some very special visitors on Friday. This special group of kids are 4th graders from Pence Elementary. They are part of an after school program called the Explorers. The kids plans were to read to the cats and dogs, but they had too much fun playing with the critters! Thanks for stopping by!

Placement notifications will go out on August 26th.
Before and afterschool programming will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

The FCSD Before and After School Program has a new name!
The program will now be called EXPLORERS!

One of our favorite events of the year at the after school program!

This photo right here speaks volumes!! The surprise and happiness of our friend Sloane as she won a bike on Friday at Bike Safety and Rodeo at Pence Elementary-Fairfield, IA.

This event would not be possible and free if not supported by our presenting sponsor County Health Center. Material costs were covered by The Ride Bike Shop and AERON Lifestyle Technology, Inc..

What a fun 2 day event! Students learned about the importance of their helmet, hand signals, rules and hazards of the road, and parts of their bike. We had volunteers from some member organizations as well as our Ambassadors.

The obstacle course was a huge hit as always and our new chalk art activity left the front sidewalk at Pence looking great!

We were able to give 6 bikes away at our graduation ceremony! This were donated by TrafFix Devices, Inc., AERON Lifestyle Technology, and Nate and Angie Orne-Johnson. The smiles when their names were called was wonderful!

Thank you to all the volunteers who stepped up to make this happen. YOU are making a difference in our world!

All buildings: No afterschool programming 1/8/24

Thank you to Toad and the Carnegie Museum for hosting our 4th grade after school program students on Friday! We had a fantastic time learning about Native American tools and exploring the museum.

Reminder: NO after school program at Washington Elementary today (Nov. 2).
Pence will still have programming today!

In case you missed the email, we will not be able to visit Harvestville today due to the cruddy weather…again 😩. But we have a group going to Jefferson County Park and the rest going to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds! Should be a fun afternoon for our older after school program kiddos! 📸 to follow.
