While in Portugal shooting "Lisbon" (1955), Maureen agreed spend the day with me to shoot pictures to take advantage of the city's attractive scenery. She was amazing on each shot I took.

Juan Carlos, heir to the throne of Spain, was in Lisbon on vacation on 1955 from his studies, his exiled parents were then making their home at nearby Estoril. They visited the set and invited us for a very fun diner.

Maureen was so beautiful it took my breath away. Her natural humanity created a halo of kindness around her. Working with her one felt the comfort and serenity usually associated with a church.

Ray Milland doubled as director on "Lisbon" (1955), a tale of espionage and kidnapping. Although a major international star, there was never anything pretentious about him. He treated me as though we had been working together for years.
