Lee Dimmit, Jefferson County Supervisor, stated at the joint City Council and Jefferson County City Hall meeting recently that the Jefferson County Supervisors need feedback from County residents as soon as possible on any potential data center location in Jefferson County before making any decision on the proposed 24 month moratorium ordinance being developed now. It takes less than a minute to complete. Thanks!

We’re currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 9:30am with reports of extreme weather causing damage west of us. Fairfield, Richland and surrounding communities in Southeast Iowa are in the path. We encourage the community to be safe this morning and seek shelter in case of any intensifying of strong winds or tornado conditions.

In case you missed the in-person program, Grass Monsters are back as a kit. The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Jefferson County has provided the supplies to make your very own Grass Monster! Find them in the youth area of the library-while supplies last! Learn about germination and cover crop with this kit. You have a nylon, cup, potting soil, googly eyes and other goodies to decorate your cup and make your Grass Monster!
