Another project getting ready to kick off.

We’ll soon be starting siding replacement work on this home as part of a larger exterior upgrade project currently underway. The new concrete patio and outdoor space are already taking shape, and our portion of the project will focus on updating and tying the exterior finishes together.

Projects like this are where planning matters. Coordinating siding, concrete elevations, drainage, trim details, and future exterior additions ahead of time helps avoid the “piecemeal remodel” look a lot of properties end up with.

This one still has a lot left to come, but the transformation is already starting to take shape.

Sometimes the biggest problems in a home are the ones buried under concrete.

We were recently called out to investigate a failing basement drain line where wastewater was no longer flowing correctly underground. Using a sewer inspection camera, we located what appears to be a disconnected or failed section of pipe beneath the basement floor.

Next steps on this project:

saw cutting the basement concrete floor

hand excavation to expose the damaged drain line

removing failed piping

installing new PVC drain connections and couplers

reconnecting and testing the system for leaks

gravel backfill and compaction

concrete floor restoration

We’ll also be putting our new concrete mixer to work on this one as we complete the repair and restore the floor surface.

A lot of underground plumbing issues get patched temporarily or ignored until major backups happen. Proper diagnostics and repair matter, especially when dealing with older buried drain systems beneath concrete slabs.
