Getting ready for a fabric and weavings sale on Saturday September 20th, at the annual Sidewalk Sale. I'll have all kinds of beautiful, colorful, handwoven and embroidered fabrics from all over, including India and Thailand. 💗

Floris and Little Leader's wool from last spring's shearing. Combed and organized by color. The next step will be to divide it into three equal parts by weight, keeping the gradient from light to dark in each section. Then spin each section and ply from light to dark for one long continuous fade.

A series of five wool, silk, cotton and linen blankets are finished and available online, at torreywitherspoon.com.
Each blanket is different. Some are lightly felted and contain linen and cotton, and others are mostly wool with some silk. All are made from yarn remnants, collected, sorted and put together for a new life. Let me know if you have any questions. 💗

A couple new very cozy blankets off the loom. Wool warp, with a combination of wool, silk, cotton, linen, and a small amount of acrylic in the weft. They went through the wash and are now lightly felted. The washing process really brings the fabric to life. 💖

Threading the heddles for double width fabric on the loom. I wasn't quite paying attention while winding the warp and ended up making it quite a bit wider than the width of the loom. So it will be woven double. Hoping for some blankets, or fabric. It's always a bit of an experiment when mixing so many different yarns. 💖

A new warp for the loom! The threads are being put through the reed prior to winding the yarn onto the back beam. Because all the yarns are different thicknesses, I've been carefully calculating how to space each section. It's a slow, focused process. Hopefully the proper spacing will give the different yarns room to bloom after weaving.

Stripe detail. Wool warp, and the weft is a combination of mostly wool, with a bit of mohair, silk, and lots of little odds and ends.
