Fancy Cats & Dogs is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers, with the purpose of rehoming cats that need it. A lot of these cats have been through hard times, so we do our best to make sure to match up every cat with the right human(s) for them. We are a 501(c)(3) charity and our money comes from donations so anything that you can do to help is immensely appreciated (United Way #98772)

Binx is the kind of cat people fall in love with immediately.

Binx has completely stolen his foster mom's heart during his time in foster care. She has considered "foster failing" more than once, but she knows that his perfect forever family is out there waiting to meet him!

He is incredibly affectionate, social, and wants to be involved in everything you do. Whether he's perched on the bathroom sink watching you brush your teeth, greeting you at the window with a sweet meow, or curling up right beside you for a cuddle, Binx is happiest when he's with his people. His loyalty and devotion are truly extraordinary.

Binx does wonderfully with children, gets along great with dogs, and would likely thrive in a home with another playful cat companion. In fact, one of his absolute favorite activities is playing with his foster mom's dog! He loves his toys almost as much as he loves attention. If you're looking for an "in-your-pocket" cat who wants to be your constant companion, Binx is your guy.

Health Note: Binx was originally surrendered to the shelter due to an autoimmune skin condition. The fantastic news is that after a veterinary evaluation and a Depo injection, his skin has returned completely to normal! In the interest of full transparency, it is likely that he will need Depo shots on a monthly or every-other-month basis to keep his condition under control. Fortunately, these injections are generally very affordable, and it will be easy to establish a routine with a veterinarian to keep him comfortable and thriving.

Binx deserves a family who will see past a highly manageable medical condition and recognize what an incredible cat he truly is. He has so much love to give, and whoever adopts him will gain a loyal best friend, a professional cuddle expert, and a constant source of entertainment.

Could that family be yours?

Get Ready to Meet Butler!

Butler is a big, sweet, goofy boy who loves to play with his toys while rolling on his back, and he fully believes he is small enough to be a lap dog! He is an absolute champion at sleeping in and loves nothing more than morning cuddles. Whenever he is out on the town, he never goes anywhere without receiving a handful of compliments about how handsome and well-behaved he is.

He is incredibly eager to learn and please. When left home alone, Butler is a perfect gentleman; he happily lays on the floor or on his own bed and does not sneak onto the furniture. Opening the front door to his happy, wiggling butt will always bring a smile to your face, but consider yourself warned: he is a notorious shoe thief! He loves to pick up a shoe to hold while he enthusiastically wiggles right into you for greetings.

Butler is fully house-trained and has had zero accidents in the home. He has shown absolutely no signs of anxiety, destructiveness, or food aggression. He walks very well on a leash, but when he gets the chance to enjoy some off-leash time in a securely fenced area, he unleashes the fastest zoomies you’ve ever seen! Afterward, he loves to roll around in the grass and soak up the sun on his back. He is already showing great potential with his recall training, too.

Butler really is the ultimate sweet boy who just loves to be near his humans and nap in the sunshine. He is ready to bring a mountain of joy and wiggles to his forever home!

Say Hello to Arya!

Arya is an adventurous, one-year-old blonde terrier mix! This incredibly sweet and curious girl is ready to find a family to share her big heart and fun-loving spirit with.

Arya absolutely loves meeting new people and receiving affection. She is a total foodie and is exceptionally gentle when taking treats from your hand. In fact, her foster mom notes she is even gentler than her own small dogs! When it comes to other animals, Arya gets super excited to make new friends and loves the idea of playing with every dog or cat she meets. She is a remarkably quiet girl, too; her foster family hasn't heard her bark at all. She might offer a tiny whine when she first goes into her crate, but if you give her a yummy treat or a chew toy, she settles right in and keeps herself happily occupied.

When it’s time for a little downtime, Arya is excellent at winding down and will seek out the absolute coziest spot she can find for a good nap.

Because she is still a young pup, Arya is working hard on her manners. She is learning how to walk on a leash and is making great progress with her pulling. She is also still mastering her potty training, so she will thrive with an adopter who has a little patience, encouragement, or prior puppy-training experience to help her cross the finish line.

Arya has plenty of wonderful young-dog energy and would thrive beautifully in an active household that loves going on walks and hikes. Just remember to bring plenty of water along for the ride—this smart girl loves a refreshing drink to cool down when she's out enjoying the warm weather!

Meet Amie!

Amie, affectionately known as "Am" to her friends, is a beautiful one-year-old black and tan tortoiseshell girl with a gorgeous fluffy tail. While she is a tiny little thing, she has a whole lot of love packed into her petite package, and her charming personality is truly blooming as she settles into her new routine.

Amie is an incredibly sweet girl who absolutely thrives on attention. If she thinks it is time for pets, she isn't shy about letting her humans know! She can be quite vocal when she's ready for a meal or craving some extra affection, and she is always happy to have a conversation with her favorite people. Best of all, Amie absolutely loves gentle head pets and belly rubs…yes, real belly rubs! If you are looking for a kitty who loves to be doted on, Amie is more than happy to volunteer for the job.

Amie recently came to the rescue's shelter network when her previous owner needed assistance caring for her. Though it was a big adjustment leaving the only life she knew behind, she is hopeful it will lead her to a true forever home where she will be cherished for the rest of her life.

Having grown up in a large family of cats, Amie may really enjoy having a welcoming feline friend in her new home to play, nap, and co-exist with. However, she could also thrive as an only pet where she can soak up 100% of the love and attention for herself. More than anything, she just wants a safe, predictable environment where she can finally relax and know she belongs.

Amie is already spayed, current on her vaccines, and will be microchipped before heading home. All this affectionate, belly-rub-loving girl is missing is a family to call her own!

Fitz is ready to come home with you!

Fitz is a simple, sweet 7-year-old fellow who loves to snack and snuggle! You could say he got his name because he will "fit" right next to you; he loves to cuddle up close whenever it's time to relax. His absolute favorite thing is to get settled right against his human's legs and feet - they are his preferred pillows!

This charming guy is looking for his forever home after his previous owners could no longer care for him. While he is a mature boy, Fitz is incredibly tolerant, social, and adaptable. He absolutely loves people, is great with kids, enjoys the company of other cats, and can even get along with dogs (he previously lived with three big ones!).

Fitz is front-declawed, which means your sofas and curtains are entirely safe around him. Despite this, he still makes fantastic biscuits, happily kneading his paws whenever he is being loved on. He never gets tired of affection! When picked up, he will completely melt into your arms.

Note: Fitz has a condition called Pica, which means he is a little too interested in trying to chew on or eat fabrics and plastic. It is very manageable as long as those items are kept safely out of his reach, and his previous owner kindly put together a helpful list of specific things to watch out for.

Bear is a sweet, loving, and happy dog with a sensitive streak.

When he gets a little anxious, his energy can spike because his excitement and worry tend to feed off each other. However, underneath it all, he truly just wants comfort, reassurance, and connection. He is fully crate trained and happily sleeps in his crate every single night. He is also a smart boy who already knows his basic commands along with some fun extras like "crate," "high five," and "hug!"

Bear is still learning how to be the best boy he can be, so he will do best with a patient, knowledgeable owner who can guide him. When it comes to other pets, Bear prefers an environment where he is either the only dog or where the resident dog is older, wiser, and respects personal boundaries.

He is a clever guy who is known to be a bit of a counter-surfer if any high-value food is left within reach, so his future family will want to keep those kitchen counters clear! He can also occasionally become possessive of high-value items on the ground, which is very manageable with a structured routine.

Because of his sensitive nature, Bear would do best in a home with older children who can respect his boundaries and make him feel secure. He would not be a good fit for a home with younger children who might not understand his occasional anxiety and nervousness.

With the right leader to show him the ropes, Bear is going to make an incredibly loyal, loving, and devoted companion!

We are happy to share an adoption update and photos of Peaches, formally known as Cowbell!

Peaches is doing wonderfully in her new, spacious forever home! While she can still be a bit skittish around sudden, random sounds, she settles down quickly as soon as her humans talk to her. Once she feels secure, she turns into a total purring machine who absolutely craves attention.

Peaches is also adjusting beautifully to life with her new furry siblings. She and the resident dogs have a polite arrangement where they happily ignore one another. She has also bonded with Ghost, another skittish cat in the home; the two of them love to chase each other around the bedroom all night long!

She is still working things out with her other feline brother, Patches. Patches is eager to play but hasn't quite learned how to be gentle yet, so Peaches will give him a little growl if he gets too close. However, since Peaches is always in the mood to play, her family is confident they will figure out their dynamic very soon.

Her adopters send a huge thank you to the rescue team for their beautiful girl!
