Una tarde después de caminar los largos pasillos de un centro comercial, en la búsqueda de un regalo para una amiga; un poco cansada pero contenta de haber conseguido justo lo que buscaba, me senté en una de las mesas que suelen estar afuera en los restaurantes para tomar un café y deleitar unas galletas de chocolate. Mientras veía pasar la gente, observé a una mujer de mediana edad, que calculo estará entre los 60 o 65 años, con su cabeza blanca, donde lucía una larga y bonita crineja de medio lado, con unos zarcillos dorados y en sus labios un brillo que le hacía parecer muy femenina. Vistiendo un delantal y unos guantes del mismo color hasta los codos, abrió dos contenedores de basura; y con determinación, más que con fuerza, sacó las pesadas bolsas cambiándolas por unas nuevas. Me vine a casa con esa imagen. Todos mis pensamientos quedaron flotando allí; en aquella escena, y pensé escribir para las mujeres anónimas que a diario mueven el mundo a través de sus labores. En todas las edades, nacionalidades, profesiones, religiones, estatus sociales, oficios; cada una a su manera, en sus creencias; algunas diametralmente opuestas, ellas están allí realizando su función. En el rompecabezas que es el mundo, donde todas son importantes, aunque no las vean, nombraré algunas ya que son muchas las que en este día tan especial son recordadas. Y voy a comenzar con las mujeres indígenas, las más vulnerables, que trabajan la manufactura; las inmigrantes, que dejan sus hijos en sus países para ir a trabajar y darles un mejor futuro; las ancianas, que aún trabajan para mejorar su economía; las profesionales, que paran en el mejor momento de sus carreras para dar paso a la maternidad con generosidad; las abuelas madres, que se ven obligadas a realizar los dos roles; las amas de casa que llevan el hogar y la educación de las futuras generaciones; las jóvenes madres, que ahora trabajan desde el hogar y que mientras amamantan a sus bebés simultáneamente están atendiendo una reunión de trabajo; las camioneras, que transportan mercancías; las enfermeras, que ejercen su profesión con mucho cariño; las mujeres, que sobreviven en las guerras con el dolor de sus pérdidas; y finalmente las mujeres políticas, tanto en países subdesarrollados donde son abusadas en sus derechos humanos por luchar contra las dictaduras como las que están en países desarrollados que no son apoyadas por mujeres de sus mismos partidos logrando sus victorias con grandes dificultades.
Las mujeres somos inspiradoras. Recordemos que una sola es
vulnerable, pero unidas somos un poder con proyección global.
