She has just expanded her schedule for Tuesday evenings! Ms. Amanda is a board-certified music therapist who earned both her bachelor’s & master’s degrees in Music Therapy from . Originally from New York, she has called the area home for several years since completing her studies.
Amanda brings a wealth of clinical experience working with diverse populations, including medically complex children, older adults, individuals with dementia, & those receiving hospice care, where she currently practices part-time. A lifelong musician, she has played the violin for over a decade & began teaching lessons while still in school. When asked her favorite quote, Amanda was quick to respond, “Without music, life would be a mistake" -Nietzsche

Ms. Lisa is a board-certified music therapist at Valotta Studios with a heart for helping others grow through the power of music ❤️ She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Commonwealth University-Lock Haven & is working towards her Master’s degree in Music Therapy and Counseling at Immaculata University
Most recently, she completed a comprehensive music therapy internship working with patients and families in end-of-life care, where she used music to bring comfort, connection, and opportunities for meaningful reflection.
Through every session, Lisa aims to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore, express, and heal through music. When asked for a favorite mantra, Lisa said, “ [It] comes from the wisdom I found inside a fortune cookie- Failure is feedback, and feedback is the breakfast of champions. Join us in celebrating one of our instructors at Valotta Studios in her newest role as the Director of Valotta Music Therapy 🎶 Julia emphasizes a comprehensive approach to music education, encouraging students to not only develop instrumental technique but also build proficiency in music reading, theory, and ear training.
Her professional experience includes serving as a rehearsal pianist for musical theater productions as well as teaching students of all ages and skill levels in a variety of genres, including classical, jazz, blues, pop, and rock. Julia is passionate about tailoring her instruction to the unique goals and interests of each student, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Julia holds a Bachelor’s degree from Alvernia University & went on to earn dual Master’s degrees in Music Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Immaculata University . Her combined background in music & counseling allows her to bring both artistry and empathy to her teaching and therapeutic work. Something for the adults coming this fall at Valotta Studios!
Attention parents & caregivers, this one’s for you! After years spent making our studio a more colorful and beautiful place, .paints.murals is back with an incredible new addition to the program – Wind Down with Watercolor, our first class just for ! Whether you are a longtime hobbyist or have never picked up a brush, Amy has designed the perfect class to build your skills. Each monthly unit will focus on a different technique or topic, and each student will be able to build a portfolio as they explore the world of 🖌️ We can’t wait to start this bright new program, and we hope you will join us this 🍂
Wind Down with Watercolor, directed by Miss Amy, meets Thursdays from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm and is open to adults of any age! The first 4-week unit of the new year will start on September 3rd, and classes will run through the end of May. Tuition for each four-week unit is $120 and is due on the first day of each unit. 🎨 Art therapy can be used for a variety of purposes, including improving cognitive and sensorimotor functions, coping with an injury or diagnosis, facilitating communication, increasing motivation for recovery and improving self-esteem.
🎶 Music Therapy can include music engagement to support physical activity, playing instruments to improve fine motor coordination, improving cognitive and sensorimotor functions and promote social emotional goals such as managing anxiety and depression.
🎭 Drama therapy is the intentional use of drama and/or theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Drama therapy is an embodied practice that is active and experiential. This approach can provide the context for participants to tell their stories, set goals and solve problems, express feelings, or achieve catharsis.
