The Creative Soul

Fall, after the nor’easter that spent the past 5 days pounding us with wind and rain. Thankfully, the sum pump is doing what it’s supposed to do. 💜🕊️🌿

This is the first time my toad friend has been really visible. He’s usually buried in the dirt and covered with perlite. I’m still delighted he’s decided to take up residence.

Here’s what I read about toads in the garden.

“Because toads have very sensitive, permeable skin, their presence proves that your soil, air, and water are free of heavy toxins and harsh chemicals.”

“Toads act as silent nighttime guardians that eat thousands of harmful insects, slugs, and snails every season, keeping your plants safe without needing chemical pesticides.” Ah ha! He came to eat my slugs!

“Finding a toad means your yard has successfully created a healthy, hospitable habitat with enough moisture, shelter, and food to support local wildlife.”

“In many traditions, such as Chinese folklore with the three-legged money toad, these amphibians are seen as magnets for financial luck, wealth, and stability‘“

“Moving from water-bound tadpoles to land-dwelling adults, toads represent personal growth, adaptability, and major life changes.”

“Old folklore often links toads to hidden knowledge, intuition, and patience, teaching us to look past rough surface to find deeper value.”

I hope you find something magical in your garden.
