I have learned so much since becoming a mother.
I’m a different person.
I’m resilient,
brave,
and stronger than I ever imagined.
Because sometimes I’m amazed at myself,
by the fact that no matter how tired, burnt, and overwhelmed I am,
how many mistakes I make,
how many times I lose my cool,
how much the guilt consumes me,
and how much I doubt myself,
𝘐 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨.
Every single day I show up.
𝘐 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦.
I do all the things that need to be done for 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮
and love them in the way 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 need to be loved.
Because 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 are my resilience,
my brave,
and my strength.
And for them,
𝘐'𝘥 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨.

I'd rather my kids be the ones who are average in school and sports,
but hold the door open for a teacher with too much in her hands,
comfort a classmate with tears in his eyes,
invite everyone to their table because they are good at bringing people in and making them feel a part of things,
kids who don’t talk about others or put them down the second they walk away.
Because I don’t want them to be the cause of hearts sinking, clammy hands, and hearts beating so fast.
I want my kids to be the kind kids above anything else.
Because that’s how they’ll change the world.
And it starts with me.
