Pediatric speech & occupational therapy clinic started by a mother of a child with a disability "The Madison Center is named after our child.

The Madison Center was started by Tracy Dolliff, a mother of a child with Apraxia, Madison. They were referred to the Mayo Clinic and introduced to Dr. Edythe Strand, an expert on Apraxia. They saw the positive effects that Dr. Strand was having with Madison and thus became fully committed to her approach. Their confidence in Dr. Strand's method motivated them to start a non-profit speech therapy

Magnet tiles = therapy magic ✨🧲

In our speech & OT sessions, these colorful tiles are so much more than a building toy. They’re a hands-on way to target:

🔹 Spatial concepts (on, under, next to, between)
🔹 Following directions (1–3 step directions)
🔹 Expressive language (“I need a blue triangle.”)
🔹 Turn-taking & social skills
🔹 Fine motor strength & bilateral coordination
🔹 Problem-solving and planning

Here we’re working on describing shapes, requesting specific pieces, and building visual-motor skills, all while playing and having fun! When kids are engaged, learning sticks!

Did you know The Madison Center has a sensory lending library for families?

That means you can borrow sensory items to try at home before investing in them - perfect for figuring out what really helps your child regulate, focus, and feel their best!

What you’ll find in our library:
🌟Fidgets and tactile tools
🌟Weighted items
🌟Movement and regulation tools

We also accept donations of lightly used or new sensory tools your child no longer needs!

Ask your child’s OT or SLP at your next session how to check items out and start exploring what works best for your child! 🌈

Therapy Tip: Offer Choices!

When possible try:
🗣️Limiting options to two choices
🗣️Hold up each choice as you name it
🗣️Pause to give your child the opportunity to point to or tell you what they want
