One of the greatest gifts of the Camino wan't the miles we walked — It was the people we walked them with

There were conversations that made us think, prayers that encouraged us, laughs that carried us through hard days, and moments when someone else's strength helped us keep going

That's the beautiful thing about community: we were never meant to do life alone

God designed us to encourage one another, challenge one another, pray for one another, and sometimes simply walk beside one another

The truth is, all of us will face seasons that are difficult. And when those seasons come, it's often the people God has placed around us who help us keep moving forward.

Have you ever had something happen and immediately thought, "Well, I definitely didn't want that to happen today"? 😅

That was me this week.

On the very first day of our Camino pilgrimage, I tripped on a rock and injured my arm. Definitely not how I imagined starting the journey.

Was I disappointed? Absolutely.

But I also knew I had a choice. I could let it ruin the pilgrimage, or I could find joy and gratitude even though the day didn't start as planned.

I'm grateful it was my right arm (I'm left-handed). Grateful I can still walk. Grateful I've still been able to complete every mile of the pilgrimage so far.

Sometimes the circumstances aren't what we would choose, but we can always choose how we respond.

There’s something powerful about slowing down enough to truly notice where you are.

These moments from our Italy Retreat + Via Francigena Pilgrimage remind us that wellness isn’t always found in doing more. Sometimes it’s found in walking slower, being present, connecting with others, appreciating the beauty around you, and making space for reflection

If you’ve been struggling with negative thoughts, you’re not weak and you’re not stuck

A lot of the thoughts we carry were simply repeated for so long that our brain started treating them like truth

But the beautiful thing is: the pathways in our brain change based on what we think about

Over time, repetition can change the way you think, speak, and even see yourself

Healing often looks less like one huge breakthrough and more like gently choosing truth again and again and again

Don’t underestimate what happens when you keep repeating God's truth over & over & over
