Not a lot of information to go on, here, but I think this is Spermophilus lateralis or a Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel. He's watching you.

I think this is Shepherdia canadensis or Canada Buffaloberry.

Populus tremuloides or Quaking Aspen with, probably, Psuedotsuga menziesii or Douglas Fir in the background.

Senecio or Ragwort or Groundsel species.

Pterospora andromedea or Pine Drops, I think... it doesn't look like others I have seen, or even the ones in the books, but it may be a different part of its lifecycle. Or I could be wrong and it might be something totally different. Something achlorophyllous (no chlorophyll -- generally gets its nutrients from the forest floor), at any rate.

A logged over area with trees just starting to come back. Not sure what is going on with the bald patches on the hill, if it is more logging or just nature being weird.

The Deep, Dark Woods. Better drop some breadcrumbs!

Dianthus deltoides or Maiden Pink. These are very small, very delicate, and very vivid. A favorite flower. Photo from mid-July.

I often see deer and elk damage scars on Populus tremuloides, or aspen trees, but I don't ever recall seeing it fresh like this. It almost looks like it was done by human hand, but it has the shape of a hungry ungulate tearing off strips.
