CT Bargaining Update June 16, 2026

Today we met with Community Transit at HCSO in the Merrill Creek Conference Room for Operations CBA negotiations.

We were able to come to an agreement on Article 26 – Dispatchers, but we had to move talks of the Shift Differential to the overall Economics Package. Article 25 – Coach Operators has not been finalized yet, some movement was made Part Time Employees.

They presented an economics package that we need to go through thoroughly, but the numbers weren’t what we wanted being 2.5% per year for 3 years. More work is needed to come to an agreement. They did include retro pay in the package, but final numbers are to be determined.

Just getting economics is encouraging, but we are still fairly distant on percentages.

In attendance was President Bains, VP Perkins, IVP Cornelius, Eric Sullivan, Maxwell Lall and Financial Secretary Harlan.

CT May 4 Bargaining Update

Today focus was on Article 26: Dispatchers and Article: XX Interim Dispatcher. CT made a package offer on Article 26 which we spent a significant amount of time reviewing and coming up with a counter proposal which we presented this afternoon.

Our next bargaining date is May 14th where we are to receive CT’s response to our Article 26: Dispatchers, Article 30: Facilities, and Article 32: Service Ambassadors. CT has stated they will also try to have a response to our Article 8: Hours of Work proposal.

We know you are anxious to hear about wages. We’re working hard to reach agreement on the details of the contract to then be able to focus on wages. As you know, wages are always the last subject of bargaining of any contract.

In solidarity,
Pres Jas Bains
VP Lela Perkins
Fin Sec Dan Harlan

ATU/CT Bargaining Update
4/20/2026

Our ATU Bargaining team met with the Community Transit team today. ATU presented counters to CT’s Article 25 (Coach Operators) and 26 (Dispatch). We also received a counter from CT to an article ATU added defining Term Limited Dispatchers (now called Interim Dispatchers); and setting up parameters for how this position will be used going forward. This is a position that has been in use both in Dispatch and in Training with no clear guard rails. Once we get an agreement from Community Transit regarding the language for the Interim Dispatcher, we will negotiate the similar language for Training.

Both teams evaluated the counters and offered responses. With only a few areas in dispute, we are very close to achieving Tentative Agreements on these articles.

Our next confirmed meeting with Community Transit is June 16th. We continue to try and get more dates on the calendar with longer sessions, but this has been a challenge for Community Transit.

Once we have these last few articles wrapped, we will be able to address what every member is most concerned with: the economics. We will also be on base this week to kick off the placard campaign.
Stay tuned and stay united.

In Solidarity
