COME BACK TO YOUR FIRST LOVE ❤️

📖 Today’s Scripture

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works.” — Revelation 2:4–5

Today’s Thought

There was a time when we couldn’t get enough of God.

We wanted to pray.
We wanted to read His Word.
We couldn’t wait to worship.
We were excited about church.
We wanted to tell somebody about Jesus.

But somewhere along the journey, life became busy.

Responsibilities increased. Ministry became work. Problems demanded our attention. Disappointments came. And sometimes, without realizing it, we continued doing things for God while spending less time with God.

That’s what makes Jesus’ words to the church at Ephesus so powerful.

They were working. They were persevering. They were doing many things right. Yet Jesus looked beyond their activity and addressed their affection:

“You have left your first love.”

Notice—He didn’t say they had stopped working.

They had lost something deeper.

Their love had cooled.

And perhaps this is God’s invitation to some of us today:

Come back.

Come back to the place where prayer wasn’t just another responsibility.

Come back to worship that wasn’t about who’s watching.

Come back to opening your Bible because you were hungry to hear His voice.

Come back to simply sitting in His presence.

Jesus gives us three powerful instructions in Revelation 2:5:

Remember. Repent. Return.

Remember where you once were with Him.

Repent of anything that has taken His place.

And return to the things you did when your heart was burning for Jesus.

Sometimes we don’t need another blessing.

We need our fire back. 🔥

PToday’s Challenge

Ask yourself:

“Do I still love His presence—or have I become comfortable with just doing things for Him?”

Take some uninterrupted time with God today. No performance. No ministry agenda. Just you and Jesus.

🙏 Prayer

Father, forgive me for the times I have allowed busyness, responsibilities, disappointment, or distractions to take the place that belongs to You. Restore my hunger for Your presence. Rekindle the fire in my heart. Take me back to that place where loving You was more important than anything I could do for You. Jesus, be my first love again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Declaration

I am returning to my first love. My heart will not become cold. My prayer life will live again. My hunger for God’s Word will grow again. My worship will become fresh again. Lord, set my heart on fire for You. 🔥

Thank Remember:

God doesn’t only want your service. He wants your heart.
