*Update on Everett Missing Dog*
* Found in Cambridge*
First we would like to thank Cambridge Police Dept and CPD Officer Clinton for assisting Everett Aco in safely retrieving our missing Everett dog who was in Cambridge.
In this case the frantic owner initially did not know how to report her missing dog, and paid a rogue service on facebook. This caused many demands for “ransom” payments for return of the dog, money for information on the dog and many false reports to the owner via phone and text.
These texts are very convincing and most desperate owners fall victim to this heartless scam.
Some rogue sites do not release information if someone finds the dog and reports it to them untill you pay, and some it gives you a reference number while owners panic.
Others rogue sites will block Animal Control Officers and Official not for profit 501c3 organizations so they can not help properly leaving dogs at risk!
In Everett, we solely use our Official Police Aco page , Missing Dogs Massachusetts along with our police dispatch number to ensure a safe process for the dog and owner.
This is the most effective way at reuniting dogs with owners with a success rate so high we wish all owners could use this method.
The issue of scamming lost pet owners is at an all time high, so please be aware during busy Fireworks Season to contact Missing Dogs Massachusetts if you have lost your dog.
In this situation the residents had good intentions and took care of the dog and finally found out to call Everett Police.
Special Thanks to Everett Police Dispatch Deb and Robin for the extra help tonight getting Akira home

* Everett found under dumpster*
*** NEVER CLAIMED UP FOR ADOPTION****
Monday - this puppy was reported being seen for multiple days roaming in the industrial area near Encore/ bike path / behind Home Depot and Costco.
Thankfully a good samaritan spotted the puppy go under the dumpster and stayed with it until Aco arrived.
The puppy was squeezed in tightly, came out briefly for food then wedged herself back in.
Off duty Revere Aco Tony Masiello and Somerville Aco Rachel Taylor both assisted on their own time to help Everett Aco safely get the puppy out.
Once she was secured she was scanned for a chip and taken to be checked out.
She has on a new pink collar, sadly we have had zero calls on looking for her and she has been out for a lengthly time period according to reports.
if anyone knows who this puppy may have belonged to please contact Everett Police Dispatch 617 387 1212 or email Aco Stacia Gorgone at [email protected]
