These are my dress shoes at the end of the year from about 15 years ago when I was visiting 4-6 venues a day and playing events at night. People don’t realize how much work goes into owning and running a business. I love the grind and daily fight to make it all work. While so much of my marketing now is online, in 2025 I plan on going back to adding time meeting with venues, planners and vendors face to face. Anyone know a good shoe store? Last night we played for Laurie Children’s Hospital fundraising event, Cocktails for a Cause. This was the 9th year we’ve performed. The raised over $100,000 for research of Childhood diseases. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! What was your favorite candy to get?

Last night we had two weddings and I went to bed at 3:30am. This afternoon I picked up flowers for a wedding we didn’t play at the Ritz Carlton. I took them the Sunrise Nursing Home in Lincoln Park. Ali Phillips had one of her bride who wanted to donate their flowers. I was happy to help! This is my Share Your Love flower donation program I started doing in 2007 as a tribute to my grandparents.

Saturday’s wedding was truly incredible! This was the custom gift I created for them. They both went to OSU. I bought an helmet which came with the famous Buckeye stickers which represents great games.

I asked the couple to send me some of their favorite photos. I chose one with him wearing an OSU shirt. Then we made a cartoon image and created circle labels of them, which we added to the other sign of the helmet. I made lots of extra sheets of the stickers so all the guests got a page as a souvenir!

This was so much fun! The Buckeyes even won 35-7 earlier that afternoon!

We Celebrate You!

On Sunday, after our band played an amazing wedding at Hotel Baker in St. Charles I drove to the JW Marriott and picked up the flowers from another wedding we did not play. Their wedding planner Ali Phillips said her client wanted to donate their flowers to the Ronald McDonald House on the south side of Chicago. I was happy to help.

So at 12:30am, I drove downtown to the JW Marriott and loaded up their flowers after their wedding.

Then on Monday morning drove their flowers to the Ronald McDonald House which all the families of patients will love. Thanks to Ali for thinking of me and my Share Your Love Flower Donation Program. Learn more
