Saludos,
Welcome to Polemix, Northwestern’s Latinx-interest magazine! Our vision is to produce an enriching magazine publication for and by the Latinx community on campus! We seek to provide an enriching and thought-provoking experience, while emphasizing community dialogue in which concerns will be addressed and advocacy for self-determination is prioritized. Polemix works with and for the community, as an extension of our collective goals, desires, and challenges, and one that is protective of marginalized identities. That is, Polemix exists as a platform for Latinx expression through journalistic and creative work; it exists as self assertion of community and belonging on a campus that has historically neglected our voices.
With that being said, we want to see y’all! Polemix will be having an informal Open House on Wednesday, October 10th at the Kresge, Room 2425 at 5 p.m. This will be an opportunity to check-in and interact with Polemix staff and to see what our mission looks like in person! Come voice your questions, interests, and participate: our magazine is a reflection of our community, y ¡ya sabes que eres parte de la familia!
If you'd like to see our first issue, released in spring of 2018, you can access here: https://issuu.com/polemix/docs/polemix
Warmly,
Polemix Staff
