I have always thought that if my sister was a color she would be a bright, cheery yellow because she lights up the room she walks into. I am so lucky to have her in my life.

It’s an honor to be asked to do a painting workshop with the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago again, this time at the Sulzer Regional Library, Chicago Public Library next Saturday Feb 28. This is in celebration of the Philippine National Arts Month. Mabuhay ang sining!

Art Vs Artist 2025 This has been an exciting year of different projects using different media. My first time being a full blown book illustrator (Time to Shine; a dream come true) with , publishing my own Filipino activity books and doing a Filipino-American themed mural at .center as the founder of and a creative contributor. Just when I thought I wouldn't be taking on other projects since I also work full time as a children's book designer, I couldn't say no to a digital portrait set in a lavender field, be part of our public school district fundraiser with my acrylic on canvas house portrait and doing a watercolor portrait of my twin aunts when they were little girls to celebrate their 100th birthday. All in all a challenging, productive and fulfilling year. Can't wait to see what 2026 brings. .

Stephanie and I met on Labor Day to check the F&G (the unbound version) of our children’s book Time to Shine - a Filipino-American family story. It was a very special moment especially because it was shared with Stephanie’s children, who she wrote if for. It is both of our dreams come true.
