Last month, NFR26 made it to the speedway at Formula SAE Electric! We placed 22nd overall out of 88 total teams – the best result we’ve ever had. We are so incredibly grateful and proud of our hardworking team, who’ve built and accomplished so much this year.

We’d like to extend thanks to our exec members, who’ve tirelessly led our team throughout the year, as well as a farewell to our graduating seniors who have contributed endlessly to NFR. We would not be where we are without you.

We are Northwestern Formula Racing, a fully student-led undergraduate team that designs, builds, and races a fully electric formula-style vehicle each year in the international Formula SAE Electric competition. We’ve amassed almost 2 decades of experience building formula cars, and our 60-student team is united by our common goal: Build a Fast Car.

At the 2026 FSAE Electric competition, we placed 22nd overall out of 88 teams.

Our team saw improvements across both dynamic and static events: Presentation (11th), Cost (14th), Endurance (15th), Efficiency (18th), Design (32nd), Autocross (32nd).

NFR26 is our fourth ever EV, and we are immensely proud of the team growth and competitive progress we’ve seen so far!
