Does Furys Ferry need another gas station?
Currently there are four Circle Ks on Furys Ferry Road, all on the same side of the road.
Now a revised proposal would put a 5,662-square-foot GasPro with six pumps in front of Dinkâd Pickleball and Furys Ferry Hardware.
They are calling it competition.
A lot of people may call it more congestion.
What do you think?

Before streaming made everything instant, Blockbuster made Friday night feel like an event.
You walked through those blue and yellow doors and the whole weekend was sitting on those shelves.
New releases.
Video games.
Candy by the register.
Hoping the movie you wanted was actually in stock.
It was all part of the fun.
Then riding home with that blue case in your lap like you had just found treasure.
Pizza on the table.
Blankets on the floor.
The lights dimmed, and for a couple of hours, nothing else mattered.
We didnât know we were making memories.
We just thought we were renting a movie.
Which Blockbuster did you visit in Augusta?

This may not be the prettiest picture Iâve ever posted. đ
But it might be one of the most honest.
This is Robert and Johnny with 4 Brothers Maintenance, under a house, doing the kind of work most people never see, but every homeowner eventually needs.
Crawlspaces. Repairs. Odd jobs. Maintenance projects. The small things that turn into big things if they donât get handled.
And the big things you donât want to trust to just anybody.
Theyâve been helping me with the remaining projects on The Next Owner Project, and I donât say this lightly:
I trust them with my house.
They earned it from showing up.
Doing what they said they would do.
Being honest about what needs to be fixed.
And being able to get the job done right.
There are a lot of businesses that know how to market themselves.
But there are some businesses that simply earn a good name by working hard, being dependable, and treating people right.
If youâve got projects around the house: big, small, awkward, annoying, or overdue, these are the kind of local guys worth knowing.
Robert and Johnny have earned my trust.
And local businesses like that deserve to be seen.

Friends meeting up.
A little aloha in downtown Aiken.
Their projected opening is August 2026, so weâve got a little wait.

Some places werenât just restaurants.
They were family memories with a tray in your hand.
If you grew up around Augusta, thereâs a good chance you remember Ryanâs Steakhouse on Peach Orchard Road.
The kind of place where everybody had their own strategy.
Some people went straight for the steak.
Some loaded up on fried chicken.
And the kids?
They were already thinking about the dessert bar before they ever finished their plate.
Ryanâs was one of those places where families gathered after church, teams stopped after games, and grandparents treated the kids.
There was just something about walking around buffet, seeing all those hot bars, grabbing a clean plate, and making one more trip even though you were already full.
It wasnât fancy but it was good.
And sometimes those are the places we remember the most.
Who misses those hot rollsâ

I recently took my wedding band to The Gold Shop on Washington Road to have it resized.
When I picked it up, they had it sized perfectly, cleaned it, polished it, and made it look brand new again.
I know itâs a simple band, but it means a lot to me. Itâs been worn through years of life, marriage, work, and memories â so seeing it restored like that was special.
Thankful for The Gold Shop that treated something meaningful with care and took pride in the details.
