Big events call for big help to cleanup, and y’all did not disappoint! So many hands came out today, including canoes and kayakers. In this heat, I cannot thank every single one of you enough.

The city provided many trash cans, which seemed to solve the bulk of the trash problem. But there was still a fair amount around. The shoreline was horrendous. That could be due to several reasons though: more boat traffic, events, massive invasive vegetation overgrowth and the water level is very low. Whatever the reasons, the trash was abundant!

Our volunteers did not bat an eye though. It was hot, sticky sweaty, but still they pushed on. Full bucket after full bucket, they walked the shoreline, swapping stories and telling jokes. We share our weird finds, like umbrellas or full beer cans, laugh and keep pushing forward.

Ending as always, at the beach restoration project, it’s wonderful to show the hard work that’s going into returning our shore to sandy beaches.

Crazy Gators- y’all are lifesavers offering water, juice, doughnuts and fans to cool off with. Thank you so much!
