Happy New Year from Happy Inner Prizes.

happyinnerprizes 12/02/2017

Greetings Everyone,

We hope you had a wonderful celebration last Thursday and will have a beautiful time in the upcoming holidays.

We are pleased to announce that the new students taking the Hoffmann Program (see the TEDxChico video on our website) have completed a full session (12-one hour classes). They demonstrated wonderful progress in sensory processing integration and behavior control. We are working at the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods, in a new space provided through Measure Z funding. Now, we are beginning a second group.

We are making plans for fundraising to provide scholarships for more students. Please check out our website at http://www.happyinnerprizes.com. Consider providing a scholarship or portion of one so that children who need the program will have the opportunity to participate. It is a joy to watch them improve and hear the relief in adult voices because the inappropriate behavior is over.

Happy Inner Prizes is excited to share the results of the Hoffmann Program given to six students from the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods, Eureka Clubhouse. Each student participated in 12 hours of “brain-training” using the Hoffmann Program.

Those who were able to attend regularly (an hour per day for three days each week) showed greater improvement in auditory and visual processing then those who took longer to complete the 12 hours. We found that children have very busy lives, however, we managed to provide the needed number of hours for each student. Every child improved.

Here are some of the comments from Clubhouse staff about changes they noticed in behavior and academics for the six students who completed the Hoffmann Program.

For two students: “The change for the better is like night and day.”

Two students “no longer throw themselves on the floor”.

Before taking the program, one child commented, “I hate reading.” After the program, the student was seen with a book most of the time and likes discussing the stories with staff.

The comments heard most ofter are:

Improved self-confidence and self-assurance
Homework is easier or no longer a problem
No longer needs constant attention
Large increase in attention span

Other improvements noted by staff include:

More independent
Better emotional self-regulation
Improvement in ability to follow multiple directions
Faster at Math
Negative incidences have hugely decreased
Now helps younger members
Improved peer approval
Is no longer the loudest member we have

We are thrilled and honored to be able to improve the lives of children. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Karen at 707-497-9001. The program will be offered thru the summer.
