The guys were telling cool bow hunting stories on the and thanks to the story of my Oregon mountain lion got thrown in there. Pretty cool seeing that big cat getting some notoriety on the show!

For the past two years my dad and I have been blessed enough to get out and hunt western Oregon together. And for the past two years dad has connected on two beautiful blacktail bucks. These hunts with my dad are some of my best memories and I can’t express enough how much moments like these mean to me. Congratulations on another amazing Oregon blacktail

Had a blast up in the mountains with some great buddies…. Hunted hard all week and found success in the Idaho high country. & turned up a couple stud bucks. Can’t wait to get back.

God has blessed me with many things, but to experience a year of hunting like this, seems unmeasurable to me.
I feel very fortunate and grateful. being able to harvest this bull with my dad by my side and my uncle down below spotting meant the world to me.
Huge shout out to & for helping me get on this bull. I couldn’t have done it without them. is one of the best guides I’ve been around and it was a pleasure hunting with him.

~ Idaho bull
After 5 long days of solo back country style hunting with minimal success. I switched gears and landed in camp with friends .dusenbury and .dusenbury
I can’t thank them enough for having me in their camp and sharing their knowledge of the unit openhandedly.
There is no doubt they both played a huge role in my success, arrowing a last day 6x6 bull here in Idaho.
It’s adventure such as these, I value most.
Having the capability to pursue these animals, being immersed in gods creation and experiencing this world the the way it ought to be experienced.. with like minded folks,
In the mountains, bow in hand…

God blesses me again šŸ™Œ

On day 16 It finally came together for me… It felt like I left everything I had up on the mountain. From packing in solo and sleeping in a bivy tent, to grinding out long hot days behind glass looking for bucks… not to mention the handful of failed stalks that ended in ā€œwouldda couldda shouldda’sā€ This hunt had it all and some…
all the lessons and persistence finally paid off September 16th…
This buck was up and feeding below a giant cliff band I had been targeting for the past week. As I slowly made my way through cliffs I was surprised to hear this buck raking his velvet and feeding on the salal shrubs below... As I peered over the cliff edge, seeing a perfect shooting window through a tall burnt pine tree. I ranged him at 45 yards on a steep downhill angle..
I sat back in the rocks took a deep breath, dialed my bow and found some composer. I stood up when the bucks head was down & feeding, I drew my bow, settled in and made a perfect shot. The buck went 40 yards bedded down and died within minutes.
I still can’t believe how this hunt played out but I am thankful for all the trials and lessons learned hunting with a bow in the mountains. Im proud of this buck and the effort it took to get it done.
God blessed me with another wilderness adventure and Im thankful for that.

Got to do a little heavy lifting this morning….
this gangster of a Tom rolled up on me…
43 yards was where I had to stop him. Where I placed a perfect arrow through his heart…. The beast dies mercifully….

Had a great weekend in Utah… shared lots of laughs, lost a few arrows but in turn. made some great relationships with awesome people in the hunting industry. Big shout out to the folks at for the hospitality all weekend long. Can’t wait to get back and do it again next year.
