After 13 years of more work, love and dedication than anyone has a right to ask for, Chef Amanda is moving on to the next chapter of her awesome life. She will be leaving towards the end of March and we wish her only wonderful things.

We are grateful for all the blood, sweat and tears that she has given to become the most amazing chef she is, and we look forward to seeing what she does in the future. We are sure it will be Amazing.

Thank you, and good luck Lady!

A big "Thank You!" to everyone who supported all of us local, and small business over the weekend. We felt the love and we appreciate it.

It is hard right now, but lets try to remember to be kind to each other, remember that we are all people, and remember that we do need each other.

A note on the general strike tomorrow:
We stand with Minnesota, Maine, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago and all the other states and municipalities that are being abused by DHS and ICE for political reasons. We find the behavior of the Federal government to be abhorrent, corrupt and yes, fascist. The way that our rights (both individual and states’ rights) are trampled by the current administration has no place in this nation or any pluralistic society. We denounce and condemn these actions.

We grieve for the disruptions and loss of life Minneapolis has experienced. Renée Nicole Good and Alex Jeffery Pretti did not deserve to be murdered, and they will be remembered as hero’s after the current political climate dies away.

Here at rye, we are a tiny Eugene company, we have neither wealth nor benefactors, we are simply life-long self-made restaurant operators. We recognize that rye is a luxury and due to the increases in costs of EVERYTHING we are financially struggling. People skip the “fancy” meal first, and we feel it. We have no margins for a loss of revenue. We have long-standing reservations we want to honor.

We feel we cannot close tomorrow. We wish Target would close. That would have an impact.

If there is a true general strike, with time to organize, we will take part.

Thank you if you have read all of this. We genuinely love all our neighbors and hope to see you soon.
