Hi My lovelies!πππ
Monday morning I sashayed into Willamette Valley Cancer Institute ready to ring that bell and make it my bitch π but ended up stumbling out to ring it. Damn, that last round of radiation felt different than the others and wiped me out! I couldn't find my groove when I tried to ring that damn bell! It looked like the bell was ringing me! π
My recovery over the next 2 weeks should be interesting. All the side effects of the radiation (the fatigue, skin burns, blistering, etc) will peak during this time. Im definitely being it!
The silver lining is, again, that this part of my treatment is DONE! ππΎ Now on to the next step - maintenance. Honestly, there have been and are so many moving parts and pieces to this. My calendar is full of Dr appointments. Give it up to early detection, though!β₯οΈ ππΎ
I deeply appreciate everyone's love and support more than you could possibly realize. Please continue to keep me in your thoughts, especially over the next couple of weeks.ππ₯°

Radiation update π€
10 down, 5 to go.
Iβve just completed my 10th round of radiation β 5 more to go. I wonβt lieβ¦ the fatigue has been sooo heavy lately. Iβve been doing my best to move through the exhaustion, the skin irritation, and the changes happening in my body β some you can see and some you definitely canβt.
Iβm doing my best to listen to what my body needs each day (even when my mind thinks we should be doing literally anything else π).
Once radiation is complete, the next step will be maintenance and ongoing prevention, so right now Iβm focused on moving through this stretch as gently as I can.
Still grateful. Still here. Still taking it one day at a time.
Thank you for continuing to keep me lifted. Xoxoxoxo

I want to share something personal with my community here and also acknowledge that I forgot to post this on my business pages earlier.
After my second breast cancer diagnosis, it truly took everything I had to get through each day. I continued working right up until just before surgery, while juggling appointments, testing, waiting, and trying to hold everything together. My focus was simply on making it through, and some thingsβlike posting hereβhonestly fell through the cracks.
My surgery was successful, and Iβm now in recovery and beginning the next phase of treatment and maintenance to include radiationand medication doe rhe next several years. Iβm sharing this here not for sympathy, but for transparency and to keep you informed about whatβs been happening in my life during this season. I look forward to returning to the studio within the next several weeks so stay tuned!
If you feel called to read more, share, or support in any way, the link is in my bio. Even your prayers, kind thoughts, or quiet support mean more than I can say. Thank you for holding space for me with so much care and compassion.

22 years ago, I did the BIG CHOP, and I haven't looked back. ππΎ It wasn't easy in the beginning. Where I lived, I was literally on my own as far as my hair was concerned. Through trial and error, I figured out things that did and didn't work. I've palmrolled, crocheted, interlocked, and quite honestly, I love the little inconsistencies and texture. But I understand that's not for everybody.
Fortunately, I trusted my intuition and decided against most of the things people advised me to do and use make them loc faster or to care for them. Peanut butter, shaving cream, toothpaste? π¬ Thanks, but no thanks π I will admit that I did use beesewax π but when we know better, we do better, right? No tea, No shade. It just wasn't for me.
One of the things I love and appreciate about what, how, and why I do what I do is building relationships with people through their hair. I strive to be THAT person that I wish I'd had at ANY point in my loc journey.
THANK YOU to my loc tribe, past, present, and future, π for your trust and support over these past few years.

CROCHET MAINTENENCE β¨οΈ
At our previous appointment, my guest and I decided their next maintenance would be done with the Crochet needle because their hair had grown so much and quickly! We'd been palmrolling up to that point.
Sorry I didn't get Before pics, ππ but needless to say, we were both really pleased with the outcome. ππΎ

Simplify your routine and enjoy low maintenance locs with interlocking. Natural beauty made easy.
Interlocking is a technique that involves using the fingers or a tool to pull the loc through its base, securing the new growth. It can be used for starting and maintaining locs. The Interlocking method produces and reinforces the loc structure, resulting in strong, tight locs that can be shampooed as often as you like. But donβt over wash and make sure you dry them properly and thoroughly to avoid
mildew and misshapen locs π
**Please be mindful that interlocking is NOT recommended for larger, thicker locs and, if done improperly, can produce undesirable effects.
Are you interested in seeing if interlocking is right for you? Book your appointment today!
