We are a microhood community group dedicated to making small but impactful streetscape interventions, encouraging connections and wishing joy upon all!

This group and the mural project at 26th and Olive Intersection Mural was imagined by Erik Steiner, a long-time Eugene resident who sought to build a more connected community, develop a stronger neighborhood identity, inspire cheerful thoughts, and raise vehicular awareness of the in the area. Erik's dream was to make the space for people to find shared satisfaction and inspiration in creating som

The giving plum tree.

The plums are ripe at 26th and Olive and someone has placed a ladder next to tree for a hungry passer by.

Do be careful if you decide to grab one! We (Daniel & kids) took about 10 yesterday that are becoming jam!

Hmm is that a pterodactyl, house fly or fruit bat?

In this weeks exhibit the Steiners are asking us to guess by checking the list (exhibit #4) and placing our guesses in the envelope.

If you’re in the neighborhood please stop by and take a look and a guess!

Ps. Eden - loved your art from last week and had the pictures to post here but then accidentally deleted them. Sorry about that!

Sally is all over Woodfield these days 😀

Not only was she featured in yesterday’s piece on KEZI but also is doing this weeks exhibit in the art gallery:

Super cool playing card themed paintings with a depth that only beer, 3D glasses or real talent makes possible.

So worth a stop!

Eugene community looks to foster identity with mural and more 06/27/2019

Hi there!

You may have seen a team from a local TV station in the Woodfield pocket today.

I (Daniel) got a random Facebook message at around 10 am from a Chris Lueneburg.

It turned out that he was a reporter with KEZI and was interested in doing a piece on the Woodfield project!

However, he needed someone to meet up with him before 2 pm which was not easy to arrange. Luckily Sally was able to talk to him which resulted in this nice article.

Enjoy!

Thank you Ramona for a beautiful exhibit!

Ramona is 6 years old and this summers first host of a week long show at the art gallery.

Her book on bicycles, including one with saw wheels that can ride over cars, was particularly amazing!

What is Woodfield?

This and more was explored at the community meetup yesterday. A collaborative effort with an element of art, bringing people together and a neighborhood were some common themes.

Sally shared a story of a girl that has made the willow structure a daily stop for reflection and brought her grandmother to show her the space.

With the way the community is coming together there is likely to be more of those stories.

Have plans for tonight?

If not, consider joining a community meetup at Market of choice, upstairs 5:30 pm.

We will be discussing a common vision for the Woodfield Mircohood!

Where are you?

If you are anywhere near 26th and Olive in Eugene please swing by in 30 minutes!

The student team from the U of O are going to be talking to the community about where it would like the Woodfield Mircohood to go.

Happy Sunday!

A very sweet booklet has appeared in the art gallery.

It’s an illustrated email exchange between a mother and her daughter. The story of how the mother, who is a tattoo artist connects with a client undergoing radiation treatment was particularly wonderful.

Thank you Carissa Jean!
