We build custom folding bikes in Oregon for travel, commuting, and adventure.

Our bikes pack small enough to fit in an airline checkable suitcase yet ride like full-size performance bikes built for real-world distance, comfort, and freedom.

This weekend (Saturday, June 20th) we'll be at the Eugene Electric Bike Expo showing off our wares. Word is this may be the event's last year, now that it's done what it set out to do: introduce e-bikes to the public and to local shops and suppliers.

We'll be set up Saturday from 11am until 3pm, so pop over and try one of our bikes for yourself. We're bringing our All-Day fitted with a top-of-the-line Bosch SX mid-drive motor, plus several of our own non-proprietary e-assist systems that can be fitted to just about any Bike Friday.

All our systems are Class 1, which is legal across all 50 states and can be ridden at a safe speed on bike paths as well as on the road. Class 1 is also widely considered the safest class when it comes to staying on the right side of future legislation.

We built both of our systems to add to the experience of riding, not take away from it. No extra heft, no more power than you need. The motor responds to your pedal strokes, so it feels about as natural and intuitive as riding gets.
Want to know more about our e-assist range? Have a look here: https://bikefriday.com/home/sales-support/e-assist-overview/

We can't wait to put one under you this weekend. And if Saturday doesn't work, no worries: you can book a test ride with us whenever suits you, or come find us at the MADE Show in Portland, where we'll be exhibiting from the 21st through the 23rd.

PeopleForBikes.org put out their 2026 City Ratings this week. It's their yearly look at how safe and connected cities are for riding, and this year they scored a little over 3,000 towns across all 50 states.

You can look up your own city and see where it landed. If you've ever wondered how your daily route stacks up, or you're thinking about where to move, it's worth a few minutes. https://cityratings.peopleforbikes.org/?eid=140831

If your town scored lower than you'd hoped, PeopleForBikes keeps a good set of resources for folks who want to help push things in a better direction. A few places to start:

1) Look up your City Ratings score and find your mayor or city councilor's email.
2)Send a short note introducing yourself and saying why better biking matters to you. Maybe a street you wish felt safer, or a route you'd like your kids to be able to ride.
3) Get out to a local bike ride or community event, or sit in on a city meeting when bike projects are up for discussion.

And a real thank-you to the folks at PeopleForBikes for the work they put into this every year. Pulling together data on 3,000-plus cities is no small task, and giving riders a clear picture of where things stand, plus how to make them better, does a lot of good for all of us who live or vist the USA.

Now, I'm under strict instructions not to share too many details about this particular bike, but those of you with eagle eyes might be able to spot why. For those who know, you know β€” but shhhh, all will be made clear this summer!

We are heading to the Northwest Tandem Rally this weekend in Cottage Grove, Oregon and we would love to see you there.

πŸ“ Bohemia Park, Cottage Grove, OR
πŸ“… June 5-7, 2026

Registration is $160 per person and that gets you two days of fully supported riding with rest stops every 10-20 miles stocked with local food and drinks, live music Saturday, and access to the vendor fair all weekend.

On Saturday you can choose your distance through Oregon wine country: 27, 46, or 70 miles. Sunday is the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway, a beautiful 34-mile ride past six historic covered bridges along the Row River.

Come find us at Bohemia Park on Sunday. We will be at the vendor fair demonstrating some of our offerings, including Tandem travel bikes, and as always, we are happy to chat about anything bikes.

Full event details and registration at mudslingerevents.com/nwtr-2026-cottage-grove

P.S. Not all of the photos are from previous NWTR's, but they do relate to the magic of riding a Tandem, even if the first is technically a triplet!!

We look forward to seeing some of you there!
